Russia conducts smart bomb airstrike in Volchansk

On July 18, AVP reported that the Russian military carried out major attacks on several positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in Volchansk. The Russian military used heavy FAB bombs and seven accurate hits on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were recorded.

According to AVP sources, Russian aviation plans to attack fortified positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in order to effectively neutralize them. Such large-scale attacks are aimed at weakening the defense capabilities of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the region.

Judging by the publicly available video , all seven FABs had upgraded planning and calibration modules. These bombs struck with precision, causing maximum damage to the defense positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russia's Great Night Offensive

On July 18, according to AVP, the Russian army carried out a major attack on the targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Central region at night.

As a result of the attacks, an industrial facility in the Dnieper and the airport in Mirgorod were damaged.

The airport in Mirgorod has been the subject of frequent attacks by the Russian military due to its strategically important location. However, despite the constant attacks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to use the airport for military purposes. According to preliminary data obtained by AVP, the targets of the attacks were aircraft parked there.

The industrial facility attacked in the Dnieper is also considered to play an important role in the region's economy and is used in Ukraine's military infrastructure.

Russia advances to strategic village Progress

After a series of successful attacks on the Novoselovka First and Voskhod areas, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation reached a strategically important target – the village of Progress in the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic. The settlement lies in the middle of the railway line leading from Ocheretin to the west. The capture of Progress would open the way for Russian troops to Novogrodovka and then to Pokrovsk.

The region's only central railway ran along key heights, allowing Russian troops to advance rapidly with minimal losses.

The successful offensive in the Novoselovka First and Voskhod areas became a key stage in the Russian military strategy. These areas were heavily fortified by the Ukrainian Armed Forces and their capture significantly weakened the Ukrainian defense positions. Now that the Russian forces were approaching Progress, their goal was to gain control of the railway line, which would support the logistical support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' operations.
