After the merger, the Academy of Public Administration and Management increased its benchmark scores.

(Dan Tri) - In the first year of enrollment after the merger, the Academy of Public Administration and Management reduced enrollment quotas at its headquarters in Hanoi and increased admission scores in some training majors.

The above information was shared at the Opening Ceremony of the 25th regular university course, academic year 2025-2026, of the Academy of Public Administration and Management, which took place on the morning of September 29. This is the first opening ceremony of the school after merging with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics .

Accordingly, in the 2025 university admission season, the Academy will enroll more than 4,000 new full-time students to study in 14 majors and 11 training majors.

The target at the main training facility in Hanoi is 2,870, a decrease of more than 500 compared to 2024. Meanwhile, the number of registration wishes has increased sharply, causing the benchmark scores to increase in some majors. The benchmark scores range from 19.75 to 24.4, calculated for the original subject combination, the difference increases by 2 points for social subject combinations.

This is the second time the Academy has merged in the past five years. Previously, in 2022, when it was still the National Academy of Public Administration, the school merged with the University of Home Affairs.

The name change was made during the January 2025 merger, when the school moved from the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics as a multidisciplinary university.

During the merger process, the Academy continued to implement and completed the external assessment survey for 8 undergraduate training programs. The announcement and awarding of accreditation certificates were held at the opening ceremony of the new school year.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien - Director of the Academy of Public Administration and Management - said that one of the key tasks in the 2025-2026 school year is to build the Academy into a center for scientific research, policy consulting and providing public services according to the needs of society.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang - Politburo member, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, requested the Academy to develop an action program with strategic and breakthrough solutions to become a leading national center for administrative training, state management, and public administration with prestige, on par with the region and the world.

The goal is that every graduate of the Academy of Public Administration and Management can work well in an international environment.
