In the mid-high-end segment, the 15T also has to compete fiercely with previous flagship models such as the Galaxy S24 or iPhone 15, which are highly appreciated for their perfection and overall experience.

Design and display

The overall appearance of the Xiaomi 15T still retains the characteristic design of its predecessor. The device has a square design with flat beveled edges and four slightly curved corners for a relatively comfortable grip.

This year, the back cover and frame on the Xiaomi 15T have been improved with glass fiber material. This change helps increase durability compared to the plastic frame on the Xiaomi 14T, while still ensuring good heat dissipation.

The device also meets IP68 water and dust resistance standards, allowing users to use it with peace of mind in a variety of environmental conditions.

Xiaomi 15T is equipped with a 6.83-inch AMOLED screen, 1,280 x 2,772 pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. The screen edges are thinned to 1.5mm for a display ratio of 90% of the front surface, providing a good visual effect when used.

The device's screen also supports HDR10+ and Dolby Vision technology, providing good display quality, vivid colors and wide viewing angles. The maximum brightness of this screen reaches 3,200 nits, making it easy to use outdoors in harsh sunlight.

The strength of the AMOLED panel lies in its ability to display deep blacks. Xiaomi 15T is equipped with a Leica 3-camera system including a 50MP main lens, a 12MP super wide-angle lens and a 50MP telephoto lens with a focal length of 46mm f/1.9 that supports 2x optical zoom.

While some competitors cut back on the ultra-wide-angle or telephoto lens, the Xiaomi 15T has a full range of lenses, giving it the advantage of a wider range of shooting angles.

However, the ultra-wide-angle camera does not perform well in low light conditions. Image quality is significantly reduced and colors are also duller.

With portrait photos, the camera system on the Xiaomi 15T works well in most conditions. Facial details and skin color are reproduced naturally. The ability to handle difficult details such as hair or glasses is good, without being blurred when blurring the background.

The machine's AI algorithm tends to remove small hairs to increase the level of blur and create a depth effect for the image. However, this can lose the naturalness of the image. In return, the subject is clearly highlighted compared to the background.

Performance and AI features

Xiaomi 15T is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8400-Ultra processor, 12GB RAM and 256/512GB optional internal memory. A quick assessment through Antutu BenchMark performance scoring software, the device achieved about 1.64 million points.

A quick comparison with some competitors in the same segment, OPPO Reno14 5G is equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 8350 5G processor with 1.36 million points, vivo V60 and realme 15 Pro with integrated Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip with about 1.1 million points.

Real-life experience with popular games like PUBG Mobile or Lien Quan Mobile, the device maintains stability at 60fps with high graphics settings, moderate heat dissipation. With heavier games like Genshin Impact, the device can respond at high settings. Xiaomi 15T also integrates the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop cooling system, helping to maintain stable performance for a long time.

Compared to the previous version, the device has been upgraded by 10% battery capacity, up to 5,500mAh. This is a good battery level and can comfortably meet the needs of use for about a day. However, the above battery level is not too impressive when some competitors in the same segment have integrated large batteries of 6,500-7,000mAh.

The device is equipped with 67W fast charging technology and supports the Surge G1 battery management system to increase longevity, keeping over 80% capacity after 1,600 cycles. However, the device is not equipped with wireless charging.

Xiaomi 15T is also equipped with Xiaomi Offline Communication technology, allowing direct communication between two devices without the need for a mobile network or WiFi, with a range of up to 1.3km on the standard version. This feature is especially useful in mountainous, desert or remote areas.

One of the important improvements on Xiaomi 15T is the Xiaomi HyperOS 3 operating system. Compared to the previous generation, this new operating system version offers a more intuitive and smoother interface. The lock screen interface, icons, transition effects and notification system are all new.

In addition, the device also has the ability to "communicate" with products in the Apple ecosystem such as iPhone, MacBook and iPad. Accordingly, users can share images, share screens or unlock Mac computers.

Summary

In Vietnam, Xiaomi 15T is priced at 14 million VND for the 256GB version and 15 million VND for the 512GB version, competing directly with vivo V60, realme 15 Pro, OPPO Reno14 or Samsung Galaxy S25 FE.

This is Xiaomi's attempt to bring a high-end experience down to a more accessible price point, albeit at the expense of some design details like the frame and back made of fiberglass instead of glass and metal.

In return, the device still stands out thanks to its stable performance, versatile camera system, AI features and ecosystem connectivity.

However, the limitations of the ultra-wide-angle camera, lack of wireless charging and not-so-outstanding battery make it difficult for the 15T to avoid competitive pressure, especially when placed next to previous flagship models such as the Galaxy S24 or iPhone 15, which have better overall finish and experience.
