Reporting on the activities of the Phu Yen Journalists Association from the beginning of the 6th term (2020 - 2025) to the present, comrade Pham Doan Anh Kiet - Vice President in charge of the Phu Yen Journalists Association said that with a term of 5 years, up to now, the Phu Yen Journalists Association has gone through 6 Congresses, has 145 members, 05 Journalists Associations and 2 affiliated Journalists Clubs.

Over the past years, with the attention, leadership, direction and facilitation of the Vietnam Journalists Association , the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council, the People's Committee of Phu Yen province and the coordination of relevant departments and branches, the Provincial Journalists Association has had many practical activities, effectively contributing to the general movement of the Vietnam Journalists Association and the province's press activities.

However, Mr. Pham Doan Anh Kiet clearly stated the Association's difficult situation in personnel work when the Provincial Journalists Association agency by October 2024 only had 02 officers and civil servants, 01 on the payroll and 01 on contract.

“Compared to the needs of the Association’s work tasks, with the current 2 staffing levels, it is very difficult to organize and manage the Association’s activities. To meet the work needs, there must be an Association leader and specialized departments. Specifically, we recommend that the provincial leaders add 4 more staffing levels or people working at the Association - with salaries, with the titles of Chief of the Association’s Office, Specialist in professional work and Association work, Secretary, Treasurer, Archivist…” , Mr. Kiet said.

In addition, the Vice Chairman in charge of the Provincial Journalists Association also requested Phu Yen province to approve and provide funding to build the Journalists Association's website according to Plan 177 of the province and Official Dispatch 198/CV-HNBVN of the Vietnam Journalists Association, in order to integrate and share information online to serve the leadership, direction and operation, meet the requirements of innovation in press management, supervise the implementation of the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on press information; supervise the performance of civic duties and social responsibilities of journalists, give opinions on the direction and management of press activities... At the same time, the Provincial Department of Information and Communications supports the server infrastructure to host the Association's website.

At the meeting, leaders of units under the Vietnam Journalists Association highly appreciated the results that the Phu Yen Journalists Association has achieved. Regarding the proposal to provide funding for the construction of an electronic information page of the Provincial Journalists Association, comrade Vu Thi Ha said that it is an urgent need because the electronic information page is a tool that directly serves the leadership, direction and operation work to meet the needs of the press in the new situation while also monitoring the implementation of the Party's policies and the State's policies.

At the working session, comrade Le Tan Ho - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Yen province acknowledged the important role of the press agencies in discovering both typical examples and violations, helping the province to resolve issues promptly.

According to him, recently, the team of journalists in the province has participated in many national and ministerial press awards, creating an exciting atmosphere and a vibrant emulation movement in working and producing high-quality press works.

"Phu Yen organizes a quarterly press conference to discuss the information reported by the press, from which the province assigns the relevant agencies to handle it, avoids backlogs, and makes the information transparent. To do that, the Provincial Journalists Association plays a big role," said Mr. Ho.

Regarding the recommendations of the Journalists Association, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that he will direct relevant departments and agencies to find ways to resolve them in a practical way, so that these recommendations do not just remain at the conference, and are not just empty recommendations.

Concluding the working session, comrade Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association shared that, following the grassroots-oriented viewpoint, the Vietnam Journalists Association has recently organized many working delegations in localities to have an overview of the picture of press activities in the whole country and at all levels of the Association nationwide, from which there is a basis to report to the Secretariat and the Central Propaganda Department to resolve problems related to finance, human resources, budget, etc.

According to the Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, 2025 marks major events such as the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Journalists Association. He suggested that the Phu Yen Journalists Association plan to organize events in the province as well as actively participate in the common activities of the Central Association.
