Jannik Sinner made history when he came from behind to beat Carlos Alcaraz in four intense sets that lasted over three hours. The victory gave him his first Wimbledon title and made him the first Italian player (male or female) to win the tournament.

The 2025 Wimbledon finals went as expected, with extremely high technical quality. In the first set, Alcaraz started well, got an important break and ended the set with a classy save to win 6-4. However, Sinner was not discouraged, quickly responded in the second set with a break in the first game, maintained the advantage and won again 6-4.

Set 3 witnessed Sinner's bravery when he took advantage of Alcaraz's mistake in game 9, continuing to win 6-4. In set 4, Sinner got an early break in game 3 and played solidly to end the match with a score of 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4, thereby ending a 5-match losing streak against his Spanish opponent.

This victory not only helped Sinner have his first Grand Slam on grass but also confirmed his position as world number one.

Thus, the two consecutive Grand Slam finals of Sinner and Alcaraz lasted a total of 9 sets with a playing time of up to 8 hours and 36 minutes.

Sinner said after the match: "This win is definitely important. When you lose to someone many times, it's not pleasant. But before, I felt I was very close. If you look at our matches... starting in Beijing, losing 6-7 in the third set. Then in Rome, I had a set point in the first set but couldn't take advantage.

In Paris, what happened happened. But I still felt close to winning. I was never discouraged. I always looked up to Carlos, because even today I saw that he did a few things better than me. That's something we have to keep improving and preparing for. Because he will definitely come back to challenge us. Not just Carlos, but many others."

Speaking further about his first Wimbledon title and Italian tennis, Sinner said: "It feels amazing. This is a tournament I've always dreamed of, just to play and be a part of, and now to be sitting here with the trophy. It's great, a great feeling."

After the match, the Italian tennis player also received many congratulations from Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, along with compliments from legends such as Nadal, Bartoli and Pat Cash.

Sinner demonstrated his mettle and unyielding will, making the dream of the whole of Italy come true on the legendary Wimbledon grass.
