Preliminary round of Miss Vietnam Ethnic Tourism 2025 contest

On the afternoon of October 10, the press conference to announce the crown and preliminary round of the Miss Vietnam Ethnic Tourism 2025 contest officially took place.

Held for the first time, the contest has a dual mission: to honor the beauty, intelligence, and bravery of women from 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam and to promote the values ​​of culture, tourism, and Vietnamese identity to the world . The organizers aim to find "cultural and tourism ambassadors" who can inspire and contribute to promoting green tourism and community tourism.

Master Dam Huong Thuy - Head of the Organizing Committee emphasized: "We hope that the Contest will contribute to promoting culture, tourism and the image of a beautiful and hospitable Vietnam to the world, creating a professional and humane playground, encouraging the young generation to be proud, preserve and promote national identity".

The highlight of the event was the announcement of the "Purple Bauhinia" Crown for the new Miss. This prestigious crown was inspired by the Bauhinia flower - symbolizing pure beauty and vitality, and the image of the phoenix - a symbol of prosperity. The base of the crown simulates winding terraced fields, praising the diligence and spirit of harmony with nature of the highland people.

Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Khoi affirmed: "The Purple Bauhinia Crown is not only a reward but also a symbol of the intersection between tradition and modernity, spreading the message of love for the homeland, national pride and the desire to promote the image of Vietnam to the world."

Immediately after the crown announcement, the Preliminary Round took place with the participation of prestigious judges, including: Historian Duong Trung Quoc, Master Dam Huong Thuy, People's Artist Lan Huong, Doctor of Anthropometry Vu Thi Thu Huong, Journalist Ngo Ba Luc, Peace Ambassador Saleem Hammad... The contestants showed meticulous preparation, convincingly introducing themselves and their national identity.

Historian Duong Trung Quoc - a judge, especially appreciated the core elements of the contest: "The ethnic and tourism elements are extremely prominent today. Vietnam is a multi-ethnic country with great cultural potential. If these two elements are integrated, it will be a driving force for socio-economic development, while also bringing richness to social life."

People's Artist Lan Huong - Head of the jury, shared about the selection criteria: "The special feature of the contest is that the contestants must have a deeper understanding of the unique identity of women of each ethnic group, not just the loyal and capable Vietnamese women in general. We need to honor and spread that beauty to the community and the world."

After the preliminary round, 30 contestants will enter the "Common House" and participate in four reality TV episodes filmed in Moc Chau, Son La. This format is a unique highlight, where contestants will demonstrate their bravery, explore culture and participate in the lives of local people. In particular, each contestant will carry out a charity project, directly implementing it to reveal their personality and compassion.

The activities and the Final Night of the Contest will take place in Moc Chau, Son La, expected in mid-November 2025. The Organizing Committee hopes that each broadcast episode will be a vivid film, contributing to promoting the diverse beauty and rich identity of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam to international friends.
