In the film, Kieu Anh plays the role of Ms. Phuong - the eldest daughter-in-law in a large family, working as a grocer and having a poor family background.

"Before the film started filming last November, Kieu Anh discussed the script with me a lot so that we could tailor the characters appropriately.

This is also the reunion of the two sisters after the success of the role of Aunt Mai in the movie Tomorrow Peaceful. This time, Kieu Anh's appearance is completely different. We had to discuss carefully how to be true to the character on screen but still beautiful enough, not sloppy.

For this character, I couldn't borrow trendy new clothes from brands, so the two sisters decided to go hunting for clothes at the secondhand market," Khuc Manh Quan said.

Stylists Khuc Manh Quan and Kieu Anh spent a lot of time in second-hand markets looking for outfits that fit the style but are not the right color or size; some items looked too outdated to choose. To create the most realistic character, Khuc Manh Quan had to research from real-life grocery sellers.

He prepared for Kieu Anh comfortable, dynamic, dust-proof, and easy-to-move khaki and windbreaker jackets. In addition, there were thermal shirts, turtlenecks, vests, and outer shirts to create a unique look for Ms. Phuong, the grocery store, while still being suitable for the winter weather. He also bought for Kieu Anh a waist bag like the grocery store ladies in real life.

According to the stylist, although Phuong's character dresses simply, the cost of investing in costumes is not small. In addition to buying from the second-hand market, the actress also buys clothes from brands such as Uniqlo, Zara...

Compared to the beautifully dressed roles that are supported by brands with costumes, Ms. Phuong's character requires Kieu Anh to spend a large amount of money to shop herself.

"Kieu Anh is very passionate about this role. From receiving the script to getting dressed, she invested a lot in the costumes. Even though she bought many outfits that didn't fit her, she was still willing to change into other outfits, even buying them over and over again until she was satisfied," Khuc Manh Quan revealed.

There are times when I'm filming the first scene of the film and then immediately switch to a scene near the end of the film, I have to respond very quickly to the change of clothes," Khuc Manh Quan said.

Through the process of working with Kieu Anh, stylist Ha Noi found that the actress is a cheerful and easy-going person in real life but very meticulous when working. She always asked him to prepare comfortable clothes in terms of material, so that when wearing them, she would not feel stuffy.

There were times when the two had conflicts but quickly found a suitable direction. Despite being busy, Kieu Anh always arranged to go shopping with the stylist to ensure the most neat outfits.

According to Khuc Manh Quan, more and more actors, from high-class to poor roles, seek stylists when filming because nowadays, audiences not only care about acting but also pay attention to character creation.

"I think each person will have their own expertise. If there is a stylist, the actors will not be distracted by costumes but only need to pay attention to acting. Many brands can contact the actors directly to sponsor costumes, but it does not mean that just by wearing them, the audience will remember the actor's appearance," Khuc Manh Quan said.

He also shared that after each scene of My Happy Family Suddenly aired, many viewers were interested in him and asked where to buy many of Kieu Anh's costumes. This is considered a success for Kieu Anh and her stylist even though the movie My Happy Family Suddenly ended.
