The author of Mother's Diary held a concert to help the audience remember the name of musician Nguyen Van Chung.

After nearly three years, musician Nguyen Van Chung has just organized his own music night. The reason is that he has been busy with family matters recently, and has not had any new songs to bring an interesting music night to the audience.

Take your name as the theme of the music night

Nguyen Van Chung shared with Tuoi Tre Online that the Nguyen Van Chung music night will take place at the end of July, creating a new work cycle.

He released the ballad album New Chapter earlier, marking a memorable milestone in his composing career when he put aside composing songs for children and folk music. In 2025, Nguyen Van Chung turned a new page, pursuing his forte of ballad music.

All music nights have themes to attract audiences, but musician Nguyen Van Chung chose his name as the theme of the music night.

He explained: “Chung chose his name as the theme of the music night because in the past, Chung had many hits about love, but the audience only remembered the song name and the singer, few people paid attention to the composer.

Recently, through the song "Writing the story of peace" , the audience has come to know the name of musician Nguyen Van Chung. From there, the audience has found Chung's previous compositions again".

Nguyen Van Chung organized this music night to recall the hits in his music career from the beginning of his career until now, including songs with themes of love, family, children, homeland and country.

During the music night, the author of the song Mother's Diary took on the role of narrator, telling stories related to the songs, interacting, and answering all questions from the audience.

Create new versions of hits

Nguyen Van Chung's music night features singers Phuong Thanh, Tang Phuc, Nguyen Ha and On Vinh Quang.

Nguyen Van Chung said the reason for inviting the singers: "Chung wants to hear successful songs from the past performed by singers who have never sung or rarely sung Nguyen Van Chung's music before.

Chung wants to hear new versions, and at the same time connect with many singers, creating more joy in composing. Chung and the audience have more experiences with new voices. These are also the voices Chung loves."

The male musician commented that Nguyen Ha has a deep, emotional voice. Tang Phuc sings emotionally. Meanwhile, singers Phuong Thanh and On Vinh Quang have powerful voices.

The list of songs in the concert was old songs associated with the name Nguyen Van Chung. He said there were only one or two new songs as gifts for the audience.

The highlight of the concert is the appearance of special characters, promising to bring many emotions. He confided that he always puts emotions first, because emotions help the audience remember the most beautiful memories:

This music night did not have the participation of singer Nguyen Duyen Quynh - associated with musician Nguyen Van Chung in many projects because on the evening of July 27, Duyen Quynh had to participate in the 78-year art exchange program Living forever with the country in Hanoi .

Duyen Quynh will sing two compositions by Nguyen Van Chung: Continuing the story of peace and Unknown heroes .

When asked why he organized the concert even though he knew he would lose money, Nguyen Van Chung said: "Because he loves his job, is passionate about music, living with music is joy, happiness, and a meaningful life. Chung wants to live in the love of the audience."
