"Vadim Nguyen's strength is his ability to dribble the ball very well. He is a talented player, so the coaches called him up to the U23 Vietnam team," midfielder Nguyen Van Truong shared with Tuoi Tre Online .
Those were Van Truong's brief comments about Vadim Nguyen during the first time the Russian-Vietnamese player joined the Vietnam U23 team. Vadim plays as a winger. Because they have only practiced together for 2 sessions, Van Truong does not want to share much more.
Vadim Nguyen was born in 2005 and is playing for the Da Nang first team in the V-League 2025 - 2026. Vadim is 1.75m tall and can play as a central midfielder and winger. This season, he played 3 matches in the V-League and 1 match in the National Cup, all of which came from the bench.
Recently, Vadim also shared on his personal page about his first experiences with U23 Vietnam.
"There are dreams that are not just for dreaming, but to live with the colors of this flag. I am proud to be Vietnamese," Vadim Nguyen wrote, posting a photo of him practicing in the U23 Vietnam uniform.
Before Van Truong, acting head coach Dinh Hong Vinh also shared about Vadim Nguyen. He said that he and the coaching staff highly appreciated this player and believed that this was a good person who could supplement the U23 Vietnam team before the 33rd SEA Games, and further, the 2026 U23 Asian Cup finals.
On the afternoon of October 6, U23 Vietnam canceled their training session because Hanoi was affected by storm Matmo. U23 Vietnam will leave for UAE for training on October 7 and play friendly matches with U23 Qatar on October 9 and 13.
