The Vietnamese team had a second day gathering in Thu Dau Mot ward to prepare to meet the Nepal team on October 9 at Binh Duong stadium in Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
This afternoon, only 22 players took to the field with the coaching staff led by Mr. Kim Sang Sik as head coach. The team had one more player staying at the hotel to practice gym, Duc Chien.
According to information from the Vietnam team, midfielder Nguyen Duc Chien has a strained hamstring. He needs to reduce the intensity and do light exercises so that doctors can monitor his condition after the end of round 6 of the V-League.
Duc Chien played very enthusiastically and scored against his old team The Cong - Viettel in the round that took place on October 2. However, Ninh Binh only earned a 1-1 draw at home.
In addition to Duc Chien, the day before, center back Bui Tien Dung (The Cong - Viettel) did not go to the training ground. Bui Tien Dung received a red card from the 34th minute in the match with Ninh Binh so he left the field early.
He also joined the team quite late on October 3 and was unable to practice afterwards. However, after 3 days of reduced intensity, the central defender showed positive signs of recovery.
Most likely, Bui Tien Dung will have his first practice session on October 7. This will be a closed practice session, without the media, according to the schedule announced by the Vietnam Football Federation.
Coach Kim Sang Sik's initial roster consisted of 24 players. Quang Hai withdrew due to shoulder pain before the meeting. The Vietnamese team's squad remained at 23.
