On the evening of September 9, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations (HUFO) organized a screening of the film "Red Rain" for the Consulate in the City and Lao and Cambodian students studying in the area.
Mr. Ho Xuan Lam, Vice President and General Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, said that the screening of the film “Red Rain” to entertain the Consulate and Lao and Cambodian students studying in Ho Chi Minh City aims to help international friends understand more about the country and people of Vietnam; the indomitable will, courage and aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people in the long resistance war for national independence and reunification.
The Union hopes that through this cultural and cinematic exchange activity, it will contribute to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the people of the City and the foreign community living, working and studying in the area.
The film "Red Rain" is a cinematic work about the theme of revolutionary war, inspired and fictionalized from the event of 81 days and nights of heroic and resilient fighting of the army and people in the battle to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.
The film praises, honors and commemorates the Vietnamese people who have devoted their youth to the country, for national independence and unification; expressing the Vietnamese people's desire for peace and national reconciliation. After watching the film, the audience had the opportunity to interact with the film crew of "Red Rain."

Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City, said that the film "Red Rain" has truly brought strong emotions to viewers about revolutionary heroism; about a fierce period full of sacrifices by the heroes of the Vietnamese army and people. The film has helped viewers, especially the younger generation, understand the value of history as well as the value of peace.
Mr. Adiguna Wijaya, Acting Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, thanked the director, actors and film crew for making an impressive film about a historical period of Vietnam.
Representatives of the Consulate Generals of countries in Ho Chi Minh City such as Russia, China, Belarus, and India also sent their sincere congratulations to the film crew of "Red Rain," highly appreciating the artistic value of the film as well as the humanistic meanings it brings to the audience.
The film is a cinematic work with the theme of war, but the highlight is love and the desire for peace, reconciliation and national harmony, along with a message for today's generation about the value of peace, the necessity of cooperation between people and people, between nations for peace and prosperous development of the world./.
