
On the morning of October 8, at the Iraqi Presidential Palace, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Republic of Iraq Nguyen Luong Ngoc presented his credentials to President of the Republic of Iraq Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid.
At the meeting following the presentation of credentials, President of the Republic of Iraq Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid expressed his delight at the positive development of the Vietnam-Iraq bilateral relationship, especially Iraq's reopening of its Embassy in Vietnam; and believed that the traditional friendship between the two countries would continue to develop in many fields, making full use of the existing potential of both sides.
President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid wished Ambassador Nguyen Luong Ngoc success in his term.
For his part, Ambassador Nguyen Luong Ngoc praised Iraq's long-standing traditional culture and important contributions to human history; congratulated the achievements of the country and people of Iraq in maintaining political stability and rebuilding the country.

Ambassador Nguyen Luong Ngoc conveyed the sincere greetings and regards of the Vietnamese high-ranking leaders to President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid; affirmed that he will make every effort to strengthen the friendship and good traditions between Vietnam and Iraq.
During the working trip, Ambassador Nguyen Luong Ngoc paid a courtesy call to Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Mohammed Hussein, met with the Vietnamese community in Iraq and a number of ambassadors from other countries residing in the capital Baghdad.
