Training on inspection and examination skills for the 2023 High School Graduation Exam for Southern provinces and cities

On the morning of June 1, at Saigon University, the Ministry of Education and Training organized a training course on inspection and examination of the 2023 High School Graduation Exam for nearly 300 management staff from 33 Departments of Education and Training and higher education institutions in the Southern region.

Speaking at the training session, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Pham Ngoc Thuong said that every year the High School Graduation Exam takes place nationwide, mobilizing a large number of officials and teachers to participate in exam supervision and grading, along with security support forces and service at exam sites.

Therefore, the exam requires a thorough and thoughtful preparation process so that the exam takes place safely, seriously, in accordance with regulations and effectively, minimizing unnecessary risks.

Previously, the Ministry of Education and Training directed relevant units to carefully prepare, research and advise on amending the system of legal documents, regulations, and organize training on exam invigilation.

In addition, training in exam inspection and control work aims to ensure fairness, security and safety of the exam.

Over the years, the work of inspecting and checking the exam has been closely directed by the Ministry of Education and Training. On that basis, the Departments of Education and Training of provinces, cities and universities have seriously implemented it, targeting not only candidates but also teachers participating in the exam at all stages, ensuring both the correct procedures and regulations and friendliness.

"This year, based on lessons learned from previous years, I request that all stages of implementation be serious and in accordance with regulations, without subjectivity or negligence," Deputy Minister Pham Ngoc Thuong requested.

From this training content, the Departments of Education and Training of provinces and cities will retrain the staff and teachers participating in the inspection and examination work, ensuring that all members are trained in many forms.

The representative of the Ministry of Education and Training also said that the training of inspectors and inspectors is mainly aimed at prevention and containment, not focusing on handling. To prevent unfortunate incidents from happening, the education sector must proactively prepare conditions in terms of facilities, equipment and human resources, promptly detect and prevent unfortunate incidents from happening in the spirit of comprehensive inspection, focused inspection and regular supervision.

Because the exam takes place in a short time, the Ministry of Education and Training has reminded localities to focus on inspection and supervision. In particular, all stages of exam preparation and organization must be inspected and supervised to ensure objectivity, impartiality, and compliance with procedures and regulations.

The 2023 high school graduation exam will take place over 3 days: June 27, 28 and 29, of which June 30 is the backup exam day.

Candidates take compulsory exams including Math, Literature, Foreign Language and one of two combined exams: Natural Sciences or Social Sciences.

Before that, at 2:00 p.m. on June 27, candidates must be present at the exam site to complete exam registration procedures, correct any information errors (if any) and listen to the exam regulations.
