Focus on responding to heavy rains and floods, implementing measures to ensure dike safety

Faced with the complicated developments of floods, on the morning of October 7, comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Civil Defense Command of Thai Nguyen province directly inspected and directed the response and overcoming of flood consequences in some areas in the province.

Based on reality, comrade Pham Hoang Son, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Civil Defense Command, requested functional forces to continue to actively coordinate with local authorities to focus on mobilizing technical means and machinery to ensure dike safety and respond to possible situations.

Through situation assessment, the circulation of storm No. 11 has caused heavy rain over a wide area, causing water levels on rivers and streams to rise, causing flooding in many areas in the province. Updated at hydrological stations such as: Cha, Gia Bay, Thac Gieng, Bac Kan , flood water is rising very quickly. The flood peak is expected to appear on the afternoon of October 7 , forecast at 29.3m, higher than the flood peak of storm No. 3 ( YAGI ) in 2024 .

Faced with the complicated developments of the flood, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation directly inspected the situation and directed the response work at the dike at the foot of Ben Tuong bridge. From the early morning of October 7 , the Provincial Police and the Provincial Military Command urgently deployed hundreds of officers and soldiers to reinforce key positions on the dike.

Here, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the efforts, proactiveness and positivity of the locality and the provincial forces in flood and storm prevention and control; at the same time, he noted the need to continue closely monitoring the water level of the Cau River to proactively follow the "4 on-site" motto and promptly deploy response measures , ensure the safety of dikes as well as respond to possible situations.

Quan Trieu ward area has many deeply flooded areas.

A field inspection in the old Quang Vinh ward (now Quan Trieu ward) showed that most residential areas and roads were flooded, many areas were 2-3m deep. Local authorities focused on propagating, encouraging and supporting households to move to safe places; at the same time, mobilizing necessary supplies to promptly support the people .
