Tet Sharing 2025: More than 900 gifts to students and teachers in poor villages in Cao Bang

In the cold fog, the faint sunlight covered the hills and mountains of the border region, the convoy of "Tet chia" brought meaningful gifts to students and teachers in poor villages of Cao Bang province.

919 "Tet Sharing" gifts given to students

On January 20, Tuoi Tre newspaper and Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union coordinated to give gifts to students in flood-affected areas, children in difficult circumstances, and teachers in Thach An and Nguyen Binh districts, to take care of the spiritual life of the students and teachers so that they can have a joyful, warm, and sharing Tet on the occasion of the Spring of At Ty 2025.

The program awarded 919 gifts to primary and secondary school students, and 32 gifts to teachers of Thach An and Nguyen Binh districts with a total value of 983 million VND.

Each gift for students is worth 1 million VND: including 500,000 VND in cash and rice, Tet candy, warm clothes... worth 500,000 VND. Each gift for teachers is 2 million VND: including 1.5 million VND in cash and Tet gifts worth 500,000 VND.

This fund is contributed by the Vietnam Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development ( Agribank ) and readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper.

On January 20, Tuoi Tre newspaper and Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union presented 311 gifts to students of Thanh Cong Primary School and 109 gifts to students of Quang Thanh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities.

Tomorrow, January 21, Tuoi Tre newspaper and Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union continue to give 237 gifts to students of Duc Xuan Primary and Secondary School, and 262 gifts to students of Duc Long Primary and Secondary School in Thach An district.

“Gifts help students reduce difficulties and inspire love”

Ms. Ha Thi Tuyet, principal of Quang Thanh Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, said that Quang Thanh commune is a commune in region III of Nguyen Binh district, with particularly difficult socio -economic conditions.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the school has 109 students from three ethnic groups: Dao, Tay, and Nung, living scattered on the high mountain slopes.

Witnessing students receiving “Tet Sharing” gifts and red envelopes, Ms. Tuyet said that these are precious gifts that not only help students reduce difficulties and feel secure in studying, but also inspire students to love people and friends. At the same time, it also promotes more typical examples of overcoming difficulties and excelling in studying and life.

“Our students are truly lucky and proud to have the Tuoi Tre newspaper, Cao Bang Provincial Youth Union, and Agribank representatives come and give us gifts filled with the great affection of our benefactors,” said Ms. Tuyet.

Speaking at the gift-giving ceremony, Mr. Ma Van Vinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nguyen Binh district, said that the district has 16/17 communes with extremely difficult socio-economic conditions. The economic conditions, facilities and equipment of schools are still very limited.

The district has 965 cadres, teachers, staff and 9,860 students. Over 95% of the students are ethnic minorities, 80% of them are from poor or near-poor households, and their lives are still facing many difficulties, which significantly affects the quality of education in the district.

“These are encouraging and extremely meaningful gifts for teachers and students on the eve of the new year. This is the motivation for teachers and students in the whole sector in Nguyen Binh district to continue to overcome all difficulties and successfully carry out the tasks of the 2024-2025 school year and the following school years,” Mr. Vinh emphasized.

The 2025 "Tet Sharing" program is expected to give about 4,600 gifts to students in flood-affected areas, children with cancer, poor children and disadvantaged young workers... with a total cost of 5 billion VND, contributed by the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, Mr. Pham Thoai, Thai Duong Industrial Paint Company - Nesty brand, Do Thi Toan Bird's Nest, AK Mask, LOF International Milk Joint Stock Company - Kun Doctor brand and readers of Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Of which, 3,000 gifts are worth 3 billion VND (1 million VND/gift), 100 teachers in flood-affected areas are worth 200 million VND (2 million VND/gift); about 1,000 gifts for children with cancer in the program "Thuy's Dream" are worth 800 million VND (800,000 VND/gift) and 500 gifts for young workers in special difficulties are worth 1 billion VND (each gift is worth 2 million VND including: 1 million VND in cash and a gift worth 1 million VND).

The program "Tet chia" not only brings meaningful material gifts, but also serves as a bridge to convey care and sharing from the community to the less fortunate.
