The context of The Border opens in Viet Dong province, a locality entering a period of merger and streamlining the apparatus. This is the most "sensitive" time, a test of ethics for the entire cadre system, including leading figures such as Provincial Party Secretary Tran Son (People's Artist Trong Trinh), Permanent Deputy Secretary Le Dinh Sach (People's Artist Trung Anh) and Provincial Chairman Nguyen Van Thuy (Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong)...
Faced with pressure to maintain stability and implement reforms, there are times when they have to choose between compromise to maintain public harmony or confrontation to protect principles. The streamlining is not only an administrative merger but also a "filter" of qualities and will, where the boundary between justice and personal gain becomes more fragile than ever.
Besides the internal battle of wits, The Border also draws the audience into the developments surrounding a major case related to the Trinh Tam apartment project. Once hailed as a "symbol of development", this project later exposed numerous serious violations, including the collusion between Trinh Tam enterprise and officials of the state apparatus.

To solve the case, Bui Hang Thu (Hong Diem), Deputy Chief of the Provincial Procuracy - an upright and principled officer - was assigned to direct supervision. The deeper she went, the more she and the investigation team led by Quyet Thang (Bao Anh), Head of the Provincial Police Investigation Department, discovered the heartbreaking truth: from small inspectors to those in positions of power, anyone could be caught up in the law. Hang Thu herself also had to face pressure from her superiors, facing a difficult choice: to advance her career or resolutely fight for justice.

At the press conference to launch the film, the main cast of The Border had the opportunity to share about the process of making the film. In particular, the artists agreed that memorizing the film's dialogue was the most difficult challenge for them.
Director Mai Hien recounted a memory of filming with People's Artist Trung Anh: "There was a scene that took place at 8 pm at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Phu Tho province. At that time, Trung Anh's health was almost exhausted, his mind was no longer clear enough to memorize and fully convey professional lines. He was so tired that he almost lost the ability to receive long and difficult lines."

People's Artist Trung Anh even had to lie down on a chair to rest for 5-10 minutes because of fatigue. But even though the director suggested a rest, People's Artist Trung Anh was still determined: "Okay, let's try our best", which shows the veteran actor's high sense of responsibility for his work.
As for Hong Diem, when playing the role of a serious, careful Deputy Chief Prosecutor who is not afraid to face pressure, the actress also shared: "This is the first time I have tried my hand at a political film. For this film genre, the common difficulty that we actors are most concerned about is the dialogue, which contains many technical terms that we do not use in real life. That is a big barrier that needs to be overcome."

Besides, she was worried about whether she could portray the demeanor of a female Vice President or not and admitted that she felt unsatisfied with her voice, thinking that her voice was "not powerful enough" for the role and needed to learn more.

Belonging to the younger generation of actors, Anh Dao said she felt very honored to be able to participate in the film The Line with her seniors in the acting industry. But at the same time, the process of learning the lines made the actress feel "pressured" because the script contained many "technical terms that I had never heard before, let alone remember and say them".

The film brings together a cast of veteran and talented actors such as People's Artist Trong Trinh, Meritorious Artist Pham Cuong, Manh Cuong, Bao Anh, Tien Loc, Anh Dao, Huyen Trang...
With close coordination with the Supreme People's Procuracy in the professional consulting stage, The Border promises to be a quality and attractive political work, reflecting the breath of the times in anti-corruption work, rotation and restructuring of cadres.
The Borderline airs at 9pm from Monday to Friday on VTV1 from October 24.
