The People's Council of Thai Nguyen province voted to dismiss Mr. Trinh Viet Hung from the position of Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2021-2026 term, because Mr. Hung was previously assigned by the Politburo to the position of Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee.

Immediately afterwards, the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province elected Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, to fill the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province.

People's Council delegates voted to elect the Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province.

As a result, Mr. Dung was elected as Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province for the 2021 - 2026 term, with 63/63 delegates (ie 100% of delegates) agreeing.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung, born in 1983, became Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee at the age of 41.

Born on November 27, 1983.
Born in Phuong Canh ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi.
Former student majoring in Mathematics, High School, Hanoi National University.
As a student at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, he received a full scholarship to study Information Technology at NTU and the National University of Singapore. These are the two most famous universities in Singapore.
From 2007 - 2014: Worked at the Ministry of Information and Communications (respectively held the positions: Specialist, Deputy Head of Department, Head of Department, Secretary of the Ministry's leadership).
In 2014, he held the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Information Security.
In May 2019, he held the position of Director of the Department of Information Security and was the youngest director at the time of appointment.
In February 2020, he was the Director of the Department of Information Technology, the chief consultant in editing and implementing the National Digital Transformation Program to 2025, with a vision to 2030.
On November 16, 2020, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Information and Communications by the Prime Minister.
On September 6, 2024, he was elected by the People's Council of Thai Nguyen province to hold the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province for the 2021-2025 term.
