"Cheer up, guys" revolves around the story of a group of close friends Tien (Anh Duc), Thang (NSUT Thai Son) and Hung (To Dung). The number of failed startups can be counted on one hand and foot, making all three families fed up and criticizing their friendship. Starting a business for the nth time with the same result as the first time has gradually helped the three guys realize that they have shortcomings, and that people's views on them are not necessarily prejudiced. All three are determined to build a career and reputation together to prove their value "to life".

The journey of changing from a group of "immature" men, "mixed" without ideals, to people with a sense of responsibility and desire is an arduous journey in which those who want to change are full of hardship, resentment and many times discouraged and disheartened. Fortunately, beside them there are still women who always stand shoulder to shoulder. That is Thu (Anh Dao), Tien's pragmatic, sour but loving wife, or Nhung (Huyen Thach), who loves money, is good at talking but is generous and righteous. "Cheer up, brothers" affirms self-worth, the strength of friendship, and also affirms the value of faith, encouragement, a positive lifestyle, and a civilized view of each person towards those around them, the community and society.

Having made his mark with comedies such as "The Way to the Flower Land" and "Don't Make Me Angry", director Vu Minh Tri once again brings his humorous storytelling style to the film "Cheer Up, Brothers". The situations in the film are not tragic or heavy, but bright and light, events are resolved quickly and continuously to bring the audience a film with cheerful colors.

The "thirty" group was entrusted with the "first time" actors. To Dung took on the role of Hung, a taciturn, quiet, and hot-tempered character. Anh Duc transformed into the character Tien - a smooth-talking, boastful guy. The final piece was Thai Son in the role of Thang - a silly, "stuttering" guy.

The "women" accompanying the trio are also familiar faces to the audience: Anh Dao, Huong Giang, Huyen Thach. Besides, there are many veteran faces: Meritorious Artist Ngoc Tan, Meritorious Artist Duc Khue, Meritorious Artist Linh Hue, Anh Tuan...

Meritorious Artist Thai Son said, true to the name of the film "Cheer up, brothers", during filming, the film crew was always filled with laughter.

“Anh Duc makes me laugh a lot. Just looking at Anh Duc’s face makes me laugh. To Dung also laughs along. Sometimes I have to go out to the yard to do push-ups, pick leaves… or ask the director to curse me to stop laughing. But the director said if I’m still funny, how can I curse?”, Thai Son said.

Beloved after “Gap em ngay nang”, Anh Dao had a transformation in appearance when taking on the role of Thu in “Vui len nao anh em oi”. The actress dyed her hair blonde to transform into the role of Thu - Tien's sour wife, scolding her husband all the time. Sharing about the "degrading" role, Anh Dao said: "I always want to change myself through each role, even making myself ugly. Thu is a girl who has to work hard to earn money to support her family, so her appearance will have to be put aside. This hairstyle makes me look old, but it's also so that when acting with Anh Duc, I don't look too different because Anh Duc is 12 years older than me."

Anh Dao also said that she was "fascinated" with her co-star because Anh Duc was very lovely and comfortable, the two brothers talked to each other very freely. The actress said that if you do not trust and feel comfortable with each other when playing a husband and wife in a humorous family, the juggling will fail. Anh Dao admitted that she is "bland" so when playing the wife of a comedian, she encountered many difficulties.

“Cheer up, guys” is the return of director Vu Minh Tri and editor Trinh Khanh Ha – the team that brought to the audience interesting films about starting a business in the countryside such as “The Way Back to the Flower Land” and “The Season of Flowers Finds Again”.

The film will air at 9:40 p.m. every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday on VTV3 starting from July 8, 2024.
