Startup activities in Nui Thanh face difficulties

The Nui Thanh District Creative Startup Association (old) was established in early 2023 and has performed its mission quite well. However, since the implementation of the 2-level local government model, the association's activities have fallen into a state of silence. Therefore, attention from all levels is needed to "keep the fire" for the local startup movement.

Six communes in the south of Da Nang city, including Nui Thanh, Tam Anh, Tam Xuan, Tam My, Duc Phu and Tam Hai, have 29 typical innovative start-up models of young people. Many models operate effectively with new products and professional production methods.

Typical examples include Hoang Hai Tam Quang Cooperative (Thanh Long village, Nui Thanh commune) specializing in producing lingzhi mushrooms, lingzhi tea, ginger tea...; Nui Thanh Agricultural - Fishery Cooperative (Long Thanh village, Tam Xuan commune) specializing in agricultural production and seafood processing, with the product "Tam Tien anchovy fish cake" achieving the 4-star OCOP product level at the provincial level; Trung Hai Agricultural - Fishery Cooperative (Binh Trung village, Tam Hai commune) specializing in producing "Squid in strips", "Anchovies in tamarind sauce", "Crispy dried anchovies", "Squid in tamarind"; Tam Loc Trading Co., Ltd. Previously, the Nui Thanh District Creative Startup Association had 31 members representing various economic sectors in the area. The Association had its own headquarters located at the Nui Thanh District Culture, Information and Communication Center (old), regularly organizing meetings, exchanges, and supporting members in the startup movement.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu - former Chairman of the Nui Thanh District Creative Startup Association shared that the association has carried out the mission of supporting members in developing production and business, applying digital transformation, being a friend and companion connecting investment resources, sharing solutions and startup ideas, promoting and developing the startup ecosystem in the area.

In fact, creative start-up activities in the old Nui Thanh district have seen many improvements. The locality has created conditions for the association to develop its members, contributing to creating a favorable environment for individuals and start-up groups; promoting and supporting ideas and start-up projects to form and develop.

Many innovative startup projects, models, and individuals have access to mechanisms, policies, startup consulting, and access to loan capital. The Association also sets out specific directions and goals for supporting the development of innovative startup projects associated with the OCOP Program and socio-economic development programs, forming business idea incubation facilities, and co-working spaces...

However, according to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Vu, after organizing the 2-level local government model, without organizing the district level, the association was dissolved, and creative start-up activities encountered difficulties. Therefore, it is necessary for all levels and sectors to pay attention to "keeping the fire" for this movement.

“The leaders of Nui Thanh commune have raised the issue of establishing a commune-level creative startup association, but we are still hesitant about the support, guidance on organization methods, action plans, etc. of the association from the People's Committee and related departments and branches of Da Nang city,” said Mr. Vu.
