Establishing 13 temporary forest protection and fire prevention posts at Bat Xat Nature Reserve

To improve the effectiveness of forest protection and forest fire prevention and control during the dry season of 2024, especially during the April 30 and May 1, 2024 holidays, the Bat Xat Nature Reserve Management Board has set up 13 temporary forest protection and forest fire prevention posts in 5 highland communes in the district.

Specifically, from March 2024 to present, the Management Board of Bat Xat District Nature Reserve has established 13 temporary forest protection and fire prevention posts in 5 communes with forest areas under the management of the Reserve, including: Trung Leng Ho (4 posts), Den Sang (4 posts), Y Ty (2 posts), Sang Ma Sao (2 posts), Nam Pung (1 post).

Each forest protection and fire prevention post has 2-4 members.

The force participating at each temporary forest protection and fire prevention post is from 2 to 4 people, including civil servants and officials of Bat Xat Nature Reserve; forest management board and forest protection teams of villages and hamlets in 5 communes.

Forest protection and forest fire prevention posts have the task of propagating and mobilizing people in the area to participate in forest protection, organizing and implementing forest fire prevention and fighting work well; not exploiting, hunting, trapping wild animals, destroying forests, encroaching on forests; organizing on-duty posts, checking, controlling, and guarding people entering and leaving forests in the management post area, promptly detecting and preventing acts of encroachment on the forest; opening a daily record book, periodically and suddenly reporting the situation of the shift to the Bat Xat Nature Reserve Management Board according to regulations.

The staff on duty records the number of people entering and leaving the forest every day.

Educate mountain climbers about forest protection regulations and forest fire prevention and control.

At forest protection and fire prevention posts, each shift has 2-4 members, maintaining regular duty during the dry season, when there is a high risk of forest exploitation and encroachment; on duty 24/7 including Saturdays, Sundays, holidays and Tet.

During the April 30 and May 1, 2024 holidays, it is forecasted that the weather will be hot, the risk of forest fires will be high, and the number of people entering and leaving the forest will increase. Therefore, the forest protection and forest fire prevention checkpoints will be on duty regularly. In particular, the checkpoints in Sang Ma Sao, Trung Leng Ho, and Y Ty communes will do a good job of recording information about people entering and leaving the forest, propagating to mountain climbers to raise awareness of forest protection and forest fire prevention; ensuring safety when climbing Nhiu Co San, Ky Quan San, Lao Than, and Pu Ta Leng mountains.
