Thanh Nam is one of three professional judges for the special round of Golden Bell of Traditional Music 2025, along with People's Artist Phuong Loan and People's Artist Trong Phuc.

In addition to the three judges Thanh Nam, Phuong Loan, and Trong Phuc, the final night of Golden Bell 2025 on the evening of September 7 also had the participation of two guest judges, artists Kim Phuong and Chi Tam.

In the performance of contestant Pham Ngoc Nu from Dong Thap , Thanh Nam felt sorry when the contestant did not do well in her test. He thought that Nu's singing was completely ruined, out of tune, and when it came to vọng cổ, it was out of tune.

"In my heart, I'm still showing off" - Thanh Nam's comment about Ngoc Nu's singing made the audience laugh because his way of speaking was calm, pure Western but humorous.

Thanh Nam hopes Ngoc Nu will try to improve because she has a beautiful figure, suitable to be the main actress.

He also complained that on the night of September 7, many contestants sang with out-of-tune vocals. This mistake would make their performance unprofessional and annoying to listeners.

Invited to be a judge for the Golden Bell of Traditional Music last year, artist Thanh Nam made viewers wait for his comments.

Vuong Quan Tri got the highest score

In the first final round, 9 contestants were divided into three teams of coaches Ngoc Doi, Ho Ngoc Trinh and Vo Minh Lam.

Each team will perform a common performance with a combination of three vọng cổ songs according to each theme.

Three contestants Huynh Kim Tho, Dang Thi Thuy Duong, Nguyen Phu Yen of Ngoc Doi team performed a performance with the theme "Homeland River" .

Ho Ngoc Trinh's team including Le Thi Ha Nhu, Nguyen Tan Dat, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhu competed on the theme Love in the Northwest jungle .

Vo Minh Lam's team with Nguyen Thi My Duyen, Vuong Quan Tri, and Pham Ngoc Nu chose the theme "Pride of Vietnam's seas and islands" .

Overall, the three coaches created a very vibrant color in the first competition night. It was the softness with the clear, cool rivers, or the brilliant colors of the Northwest, or the pride of love for the homeland's sea and islands.

As a result, the youngest contestant in the contest, Vuong Quan Tri, received the highest score from the judges.

Tri was trained by Vo Minh Lam to portray a navy soldier, singing the song "Remembering Truong Sa" by composer Hoang Song Viet.

Tri, along with 6 other contestants such as Dang Thi Thuy Duong, Nguyen Phu Yen, Le Thi Ha Nhu, Nguyen Tan Dat, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nhu and Nguyen Thi My Duyen, were chosen to move on to the second final round taking place on the evening of September 14 at HTV Television Theater.

Two contestants Huynh Kim Tho and Pham Ngoc Nu had to stop after the first night of competition because their performance was not convincing.

In each round of the Golden Bell final ranking, in addition to practicing for the competition performances, the organizers also take the contestants to participate in social activities.

For example, before the first final night, the contestants visited the veteran artists at Thi Nghe Nursing Center, and burned incense for People's Artist Phung Ha and many other artists at the HCM City Artists Pagoda.
