According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Ngoan, Deputy Director of Long An Department of Transport, the Kenh 28 iron bridge on Provincial Road 831 (DT.831) in Vinh Hung district was dismantled to build a concrete bridge.
Implementation time from 7am on September 6, stop all vehicles and pedestrians from crossing this bridge.
The old, degraded Canal 28 iron bridge will be dismantled and a new concrete bridge will be built.
Accordingly, vehicles and pedestrians will go in the directions from Vinh Hung town → Provincial Road 831 → National Highway 62 → Provincial Road 819 (road along the old Canal 79) → Tan Hung town and vice versa.
There are also two other directions: direction one from DT.831 to (Km 15+468) → turn right over Kenh 28 bridge (Vinh Binh commune) → Kenh 504 bridge → pier B of Kenh 28 bridge → Tan Hung town and vice versa.
The second direction goes from Vinh Hung town → Provincial Road 831B → Provincial Road 820 → Provincial Road 819 → Tan Hung town and vice versa.
To ensure traffic safety, the Department of Transport requires the construction unit to fully arrange signs, directional signs for both roads and waterways, temporary bridge load signs, and barriers. Assign people to be on duty at both ends of the bridge and on Canal 28 to guide vehicles and people passing by.
According to Mr. Ngoan, the Kenh 28 iron bridge has degraded and does not ensure traffic safety, so a new concrete bridge should be invested in to serve the people of the two border districts of Tan Hung and Vinh Hung, Long An province.
The concrete bridge was started on June 20 and will be completed and put into use in December 2025 with a total cost of over 45 billion VND. This is one of the remaining 6 iron bridges on the DT.831 route of Vinh Hung district that is built with concrete.
