VHO - On the evening of August 1, at East Sea Park, the Vietnam - Korea Festival in Da Nang city 2025 officially opened, marking the 4th time the event has been held in the city.

The festival is an opportunity to demonstrate friendship between the two countries, and at the same time expand cooperation between Da Nang and Korean localities and partners in many fields.

Strengthening Vietnam - Korea cooperation in many fields

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong said that this year's Festival continues the success of 2024 and opens a new step of development in the bilateral cooperation relationship.

According to Mr. Cuong, the city hopes to work with Korean partners to build many practical cooperation initiatives, contributing to deepening the bilateral relationship and contributing to the common development of Vietnam and Korea.

This year's festival has an expanded scale, including many activities in the fields of: investment, trade, high-tech agriculture , science and technology, tourism, cultural exchange, sports and cuisine.

In particular, the first successful "Meeting Korea in Da Nang" Conference was an opportunity for both sides to review the results of cooperation in the past time and exchange development orientations in the coming time.

The Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee also emphasized that from 2022 to now, Korea has been the city's largest international tourist market. In just the first 7 months of 2025, Da Nang welcomed 1 million Korean visitors - a number that not only reflects the outstanding attraction of Da Nang but also affirms the strong friendship between the people of Vietnam and Korea.

Right at the opening ceremony, the program "Welcoming the 1 millionth Korean visitor to Da Nang in 2025" was solemnly held.

Many unique cultural and tourist activities

This year’s festival was elaborately organized, with many highlights bearing the identities of the two countries. The East Sea Park area was decorated with delicate miniatures, harmoniously combining Vietnamese and Korean cultures, creating an attractive experience space for residents and visitors.

More than 80 booths participated in the festival, displaying typical products of the two countries and OCOP products of Da Nang. Visitors had the opportunity to enjoy cuisine, experience traditional and modern products from prestigious brands of Vietnam and Korea.

This year's festival lasts until August 3 with many diverse activities. More than 80 booths from major brands of the two countries and typical OCOP products of Da Nang will bring the most attractive experiences to residents and tourists.

A series of rich activities are also held throughout the festival such as: Korean baseball experience, Vietnamese-Korean food making contest, Vietnamese-Korean talent contest, Taekwondo and Vovinam martial arts performances...

In addition, art troupes bring traditional and modern performances, creating a vibrant and attractive atmosphere.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Chang Ho-seung - Minister Counselor and Consul General, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam said that Vietnam is the ASEAN country most visited by Koreans and currently about 500,000 people and about 100,000 multicultural families living in both countries have become a solid bridge between the two countries.

Da Nang, one of the most popular cities among Koreans, is an important cooperation center where many Koreans visit and participate in activities.

The opening ceremony featured many meaningful performances, clearly demonstrating the value of cultural exchange between Korea and Vietnam.

In 2024, there will be about 1.8 million Korean visitors – accounting for 40% of the total number of international visitors to the city and the number of Korean tourists to Da Nang is continuing to increase steadily by 2025.

Besides tourism, Korean businesses are also actively investing in the city, with 335 projects and a total capital of about 2.2 billion USD by the end of 2024.

“Da Nang is expected to become a key growth engine of Vietnam in many areas such as economy, trade, logistics and tourism. I hope that the cooperation between Da Nang City and the Korean local government will become more and more active in the future,” said Mr. Chang Ho-seung.

Mr. Chang Ho-seung also said that the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the Korean Consulate General in Da Nang will continue to provide their full support to ensure that the friendly cooperation between the local governments of the two countries becomes an even more solid foundation for the development of Korea-Vietnam cooperation.
