Ha Tinh promotes cultural and human values in the new era

On the morning of October 1, at the 20th Congress of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, term 2025 - 2030, Mr. Nguyen Viet Truong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented a speech, emphasizing the task of building and promoting cultural and human values as the spiritual foundation and driving force for sustainable development.

According to Mr. Nguyen Viet Truong, in recent years, Ha Tinh has issued many important resolutions and policies such as Resolution 18 on building and developing culture and people; Resolution 98 on policies for developing culture, sports and tourism ; and successfully organized the Provincial Cultural Conference.

These activities affirm the determination to revive culture, making culture the spiritual foundation of society. However, the implementation process is still limited. Resources for culture are not commensurate, the staff has not met the requirements, the cultural potential and the tradition of studiousness, revolution and diligence of Ha Tinh people have not been effectively exploited.

At the Congress forum, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism pointed out four main challenges: the conflict between cultural and human development and the pressure of the market economy; the difference between high demand and limited resources; the need to reconcile traditional and modern values; and building a healthy and modern cultural environment for comprehensive human development.

To solve this problem, he proposed 5 groups of solutions:

First: Raise awareness and the leadership role of the Party, consider culture on par with economics and politics, and identify investment in culture as investment for sustainable development.

Second: Selectively absorb the quintessence of human culture, apply digital technology to promote heritage, and at the same time preserve identity so that the young generation can be proud and have the ability to cope with negative lifestyles.

Third: Increase resources, ensure budget spending on culture reaches at least 2%, invest in cultural institutions, restore relics, and develop cultural industries.

Fourth: Develop Ha Tinh people comprehensively, foster intelligence, vision, entrepreneurial spirit, life skills, overcome achievement disease and local thinking.

5th: Building a healthy cultural environment, from family, clan to workplace and community, promoting the role of village conventions, building public service culture, encouraging exemplary behavior through monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.

“Building and promoting cultural and human values is a long-term task that cannot be taken as a shortcut, but requires perseverance and joint efforts of the entire political system and society,” Mr. Truong emphasized.
