Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Minh Hang receives Assistant Foreign Minister of Korea

On the afternoon of September 16, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Headquarters, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang received Mr. Kim Hee Sang, Assistant Minister in charge of Economy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang thanked the Korean Government for accompanying and coordinating with Vietnam to successfully organize the 13th Mekong-Korea Business Forum on September 15 in Ho Chi Minh City with the participation of many Korean enterprises and Mekong sub-region countries. The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that Korea will continue to play an active role in the sub-region, and together with Vietnam, soon develop and implement the Mekong-Korea Action Plan for the period 2026-2030.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries, demonstrated through the very successful visit of General Secretary To Lam to Korea recently, which brought about many important results in economic cooperation, labor, people-to-people exchange... between the two countries. The Deputy Minister also highly appreciated the investment and business activities of large Korean corporations that have actively contributed to Vietnam's economic growth and the development of bilateral relations.

The Deputy Minister congratulated Korea on its successful assumption of the role of APEC Chair 2025 so far, and hoped that the two countries would closely coordinate in the preparation process for the APEC Summit Week in November 2025 as well as in the preparation process for APEC Year 2027 in Vietnam.

Mr. Kim Hee Sang shared with Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang the importance of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries and the historical significance of General Secretary To Lam's visit to Korea. He expressed his impression with the organization and successful results of the 13th Mekong-Korea Business Forum and said that Korea is committed to continuing to closely coordinate with Vietnam to promote Mekong cooperation and the Mekong-Korea cooperation mechanism in the coming time.

Mr. Kim Hee Sang also thanked Vietnam for its cooperation during the APEC Chairmanship Year 2025 and affirmed that he will accompany and support Vietnam in the process of assuming the role of APEC Chair 2027.
