Two more banks have sharply reduced interest rates. Where is the most profitable place to save money?

According to the latest interest rate schedule, HDBank listed online deposit interest rates for 6 and 12 month terms down 0.5% to 8.1%/year.

Interest rates for deposits with terms from 7-11 months remain at the old level of 6.9%/year.

Notably, the 13-month term, which has always been maintained by HDBank at an interest rate of 9%/year, a rare high level in the market, has now also decreased to 8.5%/year, a decrease of 0.5% compared to the old rate.

Interest rates for longer terms remain unchanged. 15- and 18-month terms are currently at 7% and 7.1% per year, respectively. 24- and 36-month terms remain at 6.9% per year.

At OceanBank, according to the latest online interest rate schedule, interest rates for terms from 6-15 months have decreased by 0.3%.

Accordingly, the interest rate for 6-8 month term is currently at 7.6%/year, term. 9-11 month term is 7.7%/year, term 12-15 month is 7.8%/year.

Meanwhile, OceanBank kept the interest rate for 1-5 month term at 5.5%/year. The interest rate for 18 months and above remained at 8.1%/year.

For savings deposits at the counter, the reduction is also reduced accordingly. The interest rate difference between deposits at the counter and online is 0.1%.

Thus, HDBank and OceanBank are the first two banks to reduce interest rates this week. Previously, a series of banks simultaneously reduced interest rates in the first half of May, especially last week.

According to statistics, 15 banks announced interest rate reductions since the beginning of May, including: OCB, Eximbank, VietBank, MSB, VPBank, TPBank, Vietcombank, Agribank , VietinBank, BIDV, KienLongBank, NamA Bank, NCB, Saigonbank, PVCombank.

Some banks even adjusted interest rates down twice in just the first two weeks of May.
