The application of electronic medical records helps medical facilities comprehensively digitize the medical examination and treatment process; reduce costs of printing and storing paper records; enhance safety, transparency, and management efficiency; improve service quality, bringing practical benefits to patients.
Electronic medical records will replace paper medical records and do not require film printing. Electronic medical records include: inpatient medical records, outpatient medical records and other types of records as prescribed by the Ministry of Health . The content of electronic medical records includes full information such as the form of medical records used in medical examination and treatment according to current regulations of the Ministry of Health and updated according to new regulations (if any).
Specialist II Doctor Le Quang Trung, Deputy Director of Dong Nai Department of Health, said: As of September 29, the province has 12 public medical facilities; 2 military medical facilities; 3 non-public hospitals that have deployed electronic medical records. It is expected that by September 30, the province will have 16 public medical facilities, 4 non-public medical facilities and 2 military medical facilities that have deployed electronic medical records.
