At the Colette Secondary School (HCMC) exam site, many candidates complained to their parents that the test was much more difficult than the materials they had done in class and the sample high school graduation exam questions previously announced by the Ministry of Education and Training. "The sample questions were easy, and solving them all was no problem for this test. I think I got 6.5 points," said Nguyen Dang Khoa, a student at Nguyen Thi Dieu High School (HCMC).
The male student who used his math test score to apply for university added that he especially found the practical math questions in the short answer multiple choice test challenging, not to mention that in the true or false multiple choice test he was also "blocked" points with a difficult question. "The practical questions require us to think to form appropriate expressions. This is the point I find most difficult in the short answer section," Khoa shared.
Similarly, Nguyen Dinh Huy Hoang, a student at the same school, also said that the math test had one difficult question in the multiple choice part. As for the short answer part, many male students found it “strange, incomprehensible, and each question was special”. “I think you will get 5 to 7 points at most,” predicted the male student applying for university admission with a combination of math, physics, and English.
Pham Huynh Hoang Kim, a student at Le Thi Hong Gam High School (HCMC), frankly said: “Some questions only require memorizing the formulas to calculate, but there are many questions that I can’t solve right away. For me, the hardest part is the short answer, the second is true or false, and the last is the multiple choice part. I probably only get 5 points,” the female student sighed.
“The questions weren't too tricky, but you had to figure out how to implement the formula yourself,” Kim said.

Nguyen Dang Tri, a student at Nguyen Thi Dieu High School, who is hoping to enter Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine (HCMC), shared that he was able to do all the multiple choice tests, and he could still do 1-2 questions on the short answer test, but he struggled with the true or false part. “I think the hardest part is how to calculate the score for this part, because if you get just one question wrong, half of your score will be deducted. I didn’t know how to do many questions, so I had to leave them blank,” Tri said.
"Today's math test was quite difficult, I think the highest I could get was 7 points," said the male student.
After the literature and math exams, tomorrow (June 27), candidates will take the optional exam (with the new program) and the natural science and social science exam (with the old program). By the afternoon of June 27, only candidates with the old program will continue to take the foreign language exam. The results of the 2025 high school graduation exam are expected to be announced on July 16.
