(Dan Tri) - After receiving First Prize in the folk music category at the " Hanoi Singing Voice 2024" contest, singer Pham Kieu Huyen (real name Pham Thi Huyen) shared that she couldn't sleep all night because of surprise and happiness.

On the evening of December 25, Pham Kieu Huyen was awarded First Prize in the Folk Music category at the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 thanks to her excellent performance of the song Under the porch (Tran Khanh Ly).

According to Pham Kieu Huyen, in the previous competition, she was not mature and did not have enough time to prepare well, so she only won a small prize. Therefore, this year she is determined to return. And she did not expect that the Voice of Hanoi 2024 had more than 700 participants, many of whom were strong contestants, so it put a lot of pressure on the 25-year-old girl.

Pham Kieu Huyen had to carefully calculate her song selection as well as her strategy and direction to be more successful than last year. And she was right when she gradually eliminated strong opponents and became one of the 15 contestants to make it to the final night, and the folk music genre she chose had only a few contestants.

As a professionally and meticulously organized contest, it has become a launching pad for many famous singers today, so for Pham Kieu Huyen, participating in Hanoi Singing 2024 is the fastest and most effective way for the girl who is working at the Border Guard Art Troupe to affirm her name and reach a large audience.

The female singer also revealed that before participating in Hanoi Singing 2024 , she did not have much time to practice because she was too busy with anniversary activities and defense exhibitions.

There were times when she couldn't sleep because of worry, because she was a contestant in last year's contest, if she didn't win this time she would be very disappointed.

During the competition, Pham Kieu Huyen did not think she would win First Prize. However, the further she went, the stronger her determination became. When she went on stage, she was calm, confident and told herself to do her best.

That's why when she saw her name being called for the first prize in the folk music category, Pham Kieu Huyen was so happy that she couldn't sleep. She admitted that she felt "shocked" even though her victory was recognized by experts.

"Once you've decided to enter a competition, if you don't invest in your lessons, costumes and everything, you can't win against your friends and you've already lost from the start, let alone the competition. The prize money of 100 million VND is quite large, but when I go to a competition, I don't care much about material things," Pham Kieu Huyen said.

Looking back on her past, the singer said that she had gone through many difficulties to get to where she is today. Pham Kieu Huyen used to be a civilian candidate and after a period of struggle, she became a soldier. Because her family's circumstances did not allow her to have the means, Pham Kieu Huyen always strived to strive.

Joining the Border Guard Art Troupe, although life is still difficult, she always tries to bring songs, humanistic values ​​as well as artistic values ​​to beautify life.

Having achieved success today, Pham Kieu Huyen does not forget those who taught and helped her. During the 4 years studying at the Military Arts School, Ms. Tang Quynh Nga was the direct instructor of Pham Kieu Huyen, laying the first foundation for her to step out into the profession. When she became a soldier in the Border Guard Art Troupe, Pham Kieu Huyen matured in both her style and personality through training in the army.

Coming to the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024, Pham Kieu Huyen also received help from Meritorious Artist Ngoc Dung. She shared: "She was always there to help and teach me closely without caring about anything. She was the one who exploited the qualities in me. Because before that, someone had told me directly that I had no ability and should stop.

But Ms. Dung understood me, exploited me and taught me wholeheartedly. It was thanks to her that I had such good results. Besides, there was also People's Artist Huynh Tu, the composer and arranger of the competition.

He exploited my vocal strengths as well as the brightest corners of my voice and technique to give me the best performance. And finally, I must thank Hanoi Radio and Television for creating a quality music playground."

Pham Kieu Huyen said that her direction after the Hanoi Singing Contest 2024 is to move towards a professional music career and bigger competitions. She will participate in the Hanoi Sao Mai contest, which is an important premise to move towards the national Sao Mai contest organized by VTV.
