In a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Abdallah Bou Habib, Mr Fidan said Israeli attacks on Lebanon were “unacceptable” and were plunging the region into chaos.

For his part, the Lebanese Foreign Minister informed Mr. Fidan about the latest developments in Lebanon, and thanked Türkiye for the extremely practical medical aid shipment amid the ongoing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah.

On the same day, September 25, at the meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Group of 20 (G20) leading developed and emerging economies , the Turkish Foreign Minister said that it was still unclear whether the cross-border clash between Israel and Hezbollah would spread further, but the world was facing a conflict on a larger scale.

Mr Fidan also reiterated Ankara's call for reform of the UN Security Council, stressing that Türkiye wants to see a structure where "one country's veto does not decide the fate of another country".

In addition, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan declared on September 24 that the international community needs to urgently implement solutions to prevent Israel's military moves in Gaza, and expressed support for Lebanon.

Türkiye has stopped all trade with Israel and filed a lawsuit against Tel Aviv for genocide at the International Court.

However, Israel says the allegations are baseless and has repeatedly denied targeting civilians.

Mr. Erdogan also condemned Tel Aviv's attacks on Lebanese territory, calling for international measures to end cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah.
