The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that today, October 17, the weather in the North and Thanh Hoa will have showers and thunderstorms in some places.

From Quang Tri to Quang Ngai, there will be moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, and very heavy rain in some places. Total rainfall from last night, today to tomorrow will be generally 70 to 150mm, in some places over 350mm, and in Hue City alone, some places over 500mm.

The South and other regions will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, with heavy rain in some places. Thunderstorms may include tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

At sea, the sea area from South Quang Tri to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to An Giang, the Gulf of Thailand, the southern East Sea area (including Truong Sa special zone) will have scattered showers and thunderstorms. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind of level 6-7 and waves over 2m high.

All vessels operating in the above areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.

The Central Highlands is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places in the afternoon and evening. In the east of Quang Ngai, there will be moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. The lowest temperature is 19-22 degrees Celsius, and the highest is 27-30 degrees Celsius.

The South is cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms, with heavy rain in some places in the evening and at night. Lowest temperature 23-26 degrees Celsius, highest 31-34 degrees Celsius.
