Morning

From 8:00 to 8:10: National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man gives opening speech at the question and answer session.

From 8:10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.: The National Assembly questioned Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh on the first group of issues in the field of natural resources and environment. At the questioning session, National Assembly deputies raised questions focusing on the following contents: (1) Management, exploitation and protection of national marine resources. (2) Implementation of policies and laws on water security; solutions to prevent and combat drought, saltwater intrusion, water shortage, depletion and pollution. (3) Solutions to research, explore, exploit and use mineral resources as construction materials and rare resources and minerals.

Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Le Minh Hoan and Minister of Construction Nguyen Thanh Nghi participated in answering questions and explaining related issues.

Afternoon

From 2:00 p.m. to 2:20 p.m.: The National Assembly continues to question Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh on the first group of issues in the field of natural resources and environment. Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, on behalf of the Government, answers a number of issues related to the group of questions within the Government's responsibility.

From 2:20 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.: National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man delivered a concluding speech for the first group of issues, stating: At the question and answer session, 39 National Assembly deputies questioned and 10 National Assembly deputies debated. The question and answer session was lively, frank, highly responsible, close to the practical situation and the content of the group of questions; National Assembly deputies asked very short and clear questions, each deputy only raised one issue, so it was very convenient for the management and answering.

The Minister of Natural Resources and Environment has carefully prepared the content, grasped the issues, answered quite fully the remaining issues, limitations, and had solutions for implementation in the coming time. Through the question and answer session, it is recommended that the Government, the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministers, and heads of relevant sectors effectively implement the proposed solutions, focusing on a number of contents: First, effectively implement the tasks in the Strategy for sustainable development of Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045. Second, effectively implement the Law on Water Resources 2023, ensuring water security, dam safety, and preventing water resource degradation. Third, continue to perfect legal policies on geology, minerals, and mining industry, including the draft Law on Geology and Minerals to be submitted to the National Assembly for comments at the 7th Session, for consideration and approval at the 8th Session of the 15th National Assembly.

From 2:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.: The National Assembly questioned Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien on the second group of issues in the field of industry and trade. At the questioning session, National Assembly deputies raised questions focusing on the following contents: (1) Management, supervision, and protection of consumer rights in e-commerce activities. (2) Solutions to boost export activities, promote the implementation of FTAs, and remove difficulties for businesses in the context of the world situation continuing to fluctuate in a complex and unpredictable manner. (3) Implementation of policies and laws to develop supporting industries and mechanical industries, especially in serving the processing of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products, and developing agriculture and rural areas.

Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc also participated in answering questions and explaining related issues.

Wednesday, June 5, 2024: The National Assembly spent the whole working day in the hall continuing to question and answer questions from National Assembly deputies.
