Luckily, Thu Quynh's request was accepted. She was given the role of a witch in the interactive musical Tangled.
On the afternoon of September 7, the musical's creative team held a showcase to prepare for the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival performance. Thu Quynh's appearance as a witch left an impression on the audience.
Thu Quynh renews and upgrades herself
This showcase, Thu Quynh showed off her acting talent, not a solo, but only a chorus so the audience has not yet discovered Thu Quynh's singing voice.
Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online, Thu Quynh said she proactively asked for a role in this musical, not being invited, and was very happy when her request was accepted.
She saw this as a great opportunity for her to learn the basics of singing and musical theater, to learn new things and discover other people in herself.

Having watched many musicals, Thu Quynh also dreamed of one day being able to perform in a musical. Therefore, she considered the musical project Tangled as a unique opportunity. "This is the period when I want to renew myself, to renew the profession I learned as a stage actress, to upgrade myself," Thu Quynh said.
She also admitted that her singing voice was not good, her vocal range was not wide, and she had never been confident about her singing voice. Therefore, she worked very hard to learn to sing for the new role. After a period of practicing with the crew, Thu Quynh found that her singing voice had improved a lot.
Sharing more about what she is doing to "upgrade herself", Thu Quynh said that this is the time she spends on research and study. After getting a degree in stage directing, she is currently studying at university, majoring in English, and will soon take a master's exam in stage studies.
"My dream is to have a master's degree in theater studies by the age of 40, which I am very passionate about," Thu Quynh said.

Equal access to art for all children
The musical Tangled is directed by Meritorious Artist Cao Ngoc Anh and directed by Nhat Quang, from a script by Kim Thuy. Like previous musicals by artist Cao Ngoc Anh, the actors are a combination of artists from the Youth Theater and some "outside" singers and artists.
Besides Thu Quynh, there are also actors such as Minh Anh as Princess with the hair of Rapunzel, Quoc Viet as Quang Phong, Hieu Nguyen as Gecko Chu Choe, Huu Phuong as the King, Phan Thanh Phung as the Queen...
However, this time the project is not from the Youth Theater, but is part of the Academy of Arts - Happiness project implemented by the Social Impact Organization.
On this occasion, the organizers also officially announced the project called Art Academy - Happiness. This is a special initiative aimed at creating equal access to art for all children, regardless of living conditions or starting point.

The project aims to build an inspiring art environment where every child, whether living in the city, the countryside, the mountains, in hospitals, industrial zones or any other circumstances, has the opportunity to access art.
Here, children are encouraged to feel, express their emotions and develop their talents through many forms such as music, dancing, acting, painting, storytelling, poetry reading and especially musical theater.
In the near future, there will be many activities such as a free performance of the musical Tangled at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; a run and a music night themed Chill about childhood will take place on September 20, raising funds for programs for children.
