Recently, young singer Thoại Nghi returned to the music scene with a MV titled "Surrender" . This product marks the maturity of the female singer's musical style after the success of the hit " Take me home" earlier this year.

The MV Surrendering Away attracted attention when it was directed by Pham Vinh Khuong and made entirely with a phone. He applied new generation AI (artificial intelligence) technology to create surreal, cinematic frames.
In the MV, the director created an AI character inspired by Thoại Nghi, but did not copy the real-life image exactly to ensure respect for image rights. The combination of fashion and fantasy space brought a new experience to the audience.
Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Pham Vinh Khuong said that it took him about 2 months to complete the MV using AI. Although technology is increasingly developing, creating high-quality MV content requires AI to have a large amount of data and be trained proficiently.
“AI can generate content based on pre-existing rules or templates, but it still lacks creativity, unable to deliver innovation, emotion or depth the way humans can.
While AI saves time to some extent, processing, editing, and optimizing AI-generated videos can still be time-consuming and require more computation,” said Pham Vinh Khuong.
Talking about the copyright of images in the MV, Vinh Khuong said that from the script, setting to character costumes, everything was created by him.
"I created an AI character whose appearance was inspired by singer Thoại Nghi. However, I agreed with the singer from the beginning that this character would not look exactly like Thoại Nghi, to ensure compliance with the rights to use the image of a famous brand and to maintain the principle of protecting and respecting the image of real people," he said.

Talking about making films and music videos using mobile phones in Vietnam, Pham Vinh Khuong said that this technology is developing at a dizzying speed. Many short films and music videos made on mobile phones have quality that is not inferior to other music videos in the world.
"In the past, making a film required a specialized camera, a large crew, and high costs. Now it's different, we have many choices and solutions suitable for our conditions or individuals.
Compact, high-quality filming equipment, even smartphones are enough to produce beautiful cinematic footage. Image processing technology and cinematic techniques are also increasingly advanced and accessible, making directors not as pressured as before," the male director affirmed.
Director Pham Vinh Khuong was born in 1992 in Ho Chi Minh City. Before the MV "Surrender" , he had made the MVs "Cheo Moi Lai Ra", "Bac Tranh Dai Viet" , honoring the cultural, historical and national values of Vietnam, or "Tieu Trang" (AI music product promoting child protection) and "Mat Bao" (AI music product supporting people in flood-affected areas).
Recently, he also released a 3D animated music video entirely using AI, which is longer than 4 minutes. He is one of the pioneers using AI to create films in this field.
