Duc Phuc shares his journey to conquer Intervision 2025 and the Russian Organizing Committee's proactive apology for false information and commitment to handle it seriously.

On the afternoon of September 29, Duc Phuc met the press in Ho Chi Minh City after his historic victory at Intervision 2025. Attending the meeting were stage director Duong Mai Viet Anh and producer Duong K.

Duc Phuc's success lies in his ambitious artistic strategy: 12 highlights in 3 minutes - that is, an average of 15-20 seconds, emotions, music , stage and performance all change completely. While a song usually has only 3-4 climaxes, Phu Dong Thien Vuong is designed for the audience to continuously experience many levels of emotions that Duc Phuc planned and put "pressure" on the crew members.

Producer Duong K carefully considered the use of monochord, flute and drum to create a 100% Vietnamese yet contemporary arrangement. Stage director Duong Mai Viet Anh calculated down to the second - for example, at the 1 minute and 32 seconds, the effect would start to increase. This meticulousness made a strong impression on the Russian organizers.

5 days before the competition, the organizers' price list for stage effects stunned the entire crew: more than 2 billion VND for the effects alone. Director Viet Anh had to negotiate and only used fire - the second most expensive effect after fireworks. By optimizing, the cost was reduced to 400-500 million VND.

The total cost of the entire trip was nearly 2 billion VND, including stage effects, costs for 16-17 members, 15-20 pieces of luggage with backdrops, mats, props, costumes, visuals and many other costs.

None of the sessions ended on time.

Intervision 2025 has strict rules: 2-3 minutes duration, maximum 6 people on stage, each country only 2-3 meetings with the organizing committee. But the Vietnamese delegation has had 7-8 meetings, none of which have ended on time.

The biggest challenge was that the organizers did not allow the teams to create their own visuals - images displayed on the LED screen. Director Viet Anh had to convince them to do the visuals themselves because the Russian side could not fully understand the symbolic content of the image of Vietnam.

Duc Phuc shared information that the Russian head of the jury initially made a display error, giving Vietnam 8th place. When the error was discovered, he publicly admitted it and affirmed that he gave Vietnam 1st place.

Standing firm in the face of controversy - Russian organizers proactively apologize

Duc Phuc prepared 23 conical hats printed with images of each artist, the Vietnamese flag and their national flag to give to the 23 participating countries. The delegation also brought 50 conical hats and flags to give away, creating a typical friendly and hospitable image.

After the show aired, thousands of international viewers on YouTube asked questions about its cultural significance. Producer Duong K took the time to answer each comment about the legend of Saint Giong and the significance of bamboo in Vietnamese culture.

When asked about negative information appearing on some international news sites linking Duc Phuc to gender issues, the male singer said that when the Russian organizers became aware of it, they proactively contacted him to apologize and committed to handling the situation. They wanted Duc Phuc to focus on the competition and winning, not letting the false information affect him.

Ambitious future plans

Duc Phuc stayed in Russia for 4 days after the final to discuss projects, including a tour series in many cities in Russia. He committed that if there is a tour, he will bring the Vietnamese crew along to create the most perfect whole.

Regarding his musical plans, Duc Phuc announced that he will release his debut album in 2026 after 10 years of working. The album has a breakthrough with compositions by musician Khac Hung.

At the meeting, he affirmed that without singer My Tam and musician Ho Hoai Anh, there would be no Duc Phuc at the present time. He shared that My Tam is a strong role model - from the way she holds the mic, behaves in life to the way she inspires society.

Regarding the pressure after the victory, Duc Phuc admitted that his position has been raised, and his upcoming steps and products must be carefully planned. Regarding his salary, he emphasized that his position has increased, so his salary is natural, but what is more important is that his position is based on the love of the audience - the core value that brings sustainable success.

He considers being a good role model as an influential artist a responsibility not only in music but also in the way of living, behaving and inspiring positively, especially to the younger generation.
