Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications , was appointed by the Prime Minister to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television (VTV).

The Prime Minister has decided to transfer and appoint Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam, Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, to hold the position of General Director of Vietnam Television (VTV). The term of appointment is 5 years.

The decision takes effect from November 1, 2024.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam took over the job at VTV, replacing Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, who was assigned by the Politburo to hold the position of Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee on October 31.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam was born in 1972, hometown Hanoi.

Before holding the position of Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam worked for many years at VTV, holding the positions of General Director of VTC Digital Television Station, Director of the Department of Radio and Television, and Director of the Department of Press.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Lam was appointed Deputy Minister of Information and Communications in September 2022.
