Finding the cause of poisoning in the mass poisoning of students in Quang Tri

TPO - The Food Safety and Hygiene Department of Quang Tri province said on October 7 that through testing, the Nha Trang Pasteur Institute discovered the Bacillus cereus strain (the cause of poisoning) in food samples and specimens of students who suffered mass poisoning in Quang Tri.

According to the leader of the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Quang Tri province, the discovery of Bacillus cereus strain in food samples and samples of poisoned students at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, Kim Ngan commune, can conclude that the cause of poisoning for more than 40 students is from the school kitchen.

From this result, the Department of Food Safety and Hygiene of Quang Tri province will advise the local authorities to promptly handle the case of more than 40 students being poisoned, which has caused a stir in public opinion recently.

As Tien Phong reported, after breakfast at Kim Thuy Primary Boarding School, more than 40 students showed signs of food poisoning and were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.

It is worth mentioning that, immediately after the poisoning incident, many complaints were filed regarding Ms. Do Thi Hong Hue , Vice Principal of the school. The complaints from parents and teachers here stated that Ms. Hue had "monopolized" the kitchen, not allowing anyone to access the school kitchen.

Ms. Hue was also the one who prevented the students from being taken to the emergency room and gave out information that the poisoning was caused by the students buying breakfast from outside to deceive public opinion.

In response to the strong reaction of the students' parents, on October 2, the Kim Ngan commune government decided to temporarily suspend Ms. Hue from work pending the outcome of the case.
