Positive signals in tourism development in Quan Son

In recent years, Quan Son district has promoted its potential and advantages, focused on investing in building infrastructure to develop tourism and has initially achieved very remarkable results.

Visitors to Quan Son cannot miss visiting Bo Cung cave in Chanh village, Son Thuy commune. Coming here, visitors can admire the majestic beauty, full of colors of the stalactite system in the cave and blend in with the nature, the wild landscape of the mountains and forests. Bo Cung cave is more than 1km long, with many stalactites of all colors and sizes. In 2009, the cave was ranked as a provincial scenic relic. Recently, Quan Son district People's Committee has coordinated with the British Royal Cave Association in Vietnam to survey Bo Cung cave. Through the survey, it was concluded that Bo Cung cave was formed about 4 million years ago, with many stalactites and stalagmites. Currently, there are only 5 caves in the world with stalactites like Bo Cung cave.

Realizing that Bo Cung cave has the potential to develop tourism, recently Quan Son district has invested more than 3 billion VND to build a lighting system in the cave; build an operating house at the relic site; renovate the campus, create the surrounding landscape to attract tourists. It is known that recently the number of tourists visiting and experiencing Bo Cung cave has increased. From 2023 to now, the cave has welcomed about 30,000 visitors. Quan Son district is continuing to mobilize all resources to invest in building infrastructure to serve tourism development.

Along with Bo Cung cave, many tourist attractions in Quan Son district also attract a large number of visitors such as Ngam village (Son Dien), the temple of General Tu Ma Hai Dao; the market in Na Meo commune; Din stream (Trung Ha); Nang Non cave tourist area (Son Lu); Sao Pa waterfall (Tam Thanh), Nhai village waterfall (Son Dien)...

With the right direction, tourism activities in Quan Son district are having many positive changes. In particular, the community tourism model in Ngam village (Son Dien), Na Meo village (Na Meo), Chung Son village (Son Thuy) ... attracts a large number of tourists to visit and experience. According to the report of Quan Son district People's Committee, from 2023 to now, tourist areas and spots in the district have welcomed 135,000 tourists. This is a positive signal for the district's smokeless industry.

It is known that in order to achieve the above results, in the past time, Quan Son has devoted many resources to investing in infrastructure construction; promoting propaganda, advertising and tourism promotion activities. In 2022 and 2023, the district invested nearly 10 billion VND to build items serving tourism development such as: Supporting investment in community tourism spots and upgrading roads to Ngam village; bringing electricity to and building the operating house of Bo Cung cave tourist area; embellishing the landscape of Tu Ma Hai Dao temple...

In addition to the achievements, tourism development in Quan Son district still has many bottlenecks that need to be resolved. Although the number of tourists coming to the district is increasing, the number of visitors staying at tourist attractions is very low. The system of motels, hotels, homestays, and restaurants serving food and drink has not been invested synchronously. The scale and quality of services are not guaranteed to retain tourists.

Vice Chairman of Quan Son District People's Committee Chu Dinh Trong said: The Resolution of the 6th Congress of Quan Son District Party Committee, term 2020-2025, has identified tourism development as a key task, contributing to promoting the socio -economic development of Quan Son District. To do this, the district has developed a Project on Community Tourism Development in Quan Son District to 2025, with a vision to 2030 and a Project on Organic Agriculture Development in Combination with Ecotourism in Quan Son District to 2025, with a vision to 2030. With the efforts of local Party Committees and authorities and the change in thinking in economic development of a part of the people, the district's tourism development has improved a lot. The number of tourists visiting tourist destinations is increasing; tourism services have also changed positively, meeting the needs of tourists when coming to Quan Son.

In the coming time, Quan Son district will continue to promote propaganda to raise people's awareness of tourism development associated with environmental protection, preserving and promoting traditional cultural values. Review, adjust, supplement, and develop plans for tourist areas and spots; focus on propaganda, promotion, and tourism promotion activities to attract investors. Pay attention to training and fostering to improve knowledge and skills for those working in tourism, especially households working in community tourism. Invest in building infrastructure, renovating and embellishing historical and cultural relics to serve tourism development. Thereby, contributing to promoting tourism development, creating jobs, increasing income for people, and promoting socio-economic development of Quan Son district.
