The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has just issued a Northeast Monsoon bulletin, cold; forecast of thunderstorms, local heavy rain, tornadoes, lightning, strong gusts of wind in the North - Central Central region and weather forecast for the next 10 days, from the night of December 16 to December 26, for the whole country.

Accordingly, this afternoon (December 16), strong cold air affected the Northeast, most of the North Central and some places in the Northwest. In the Gulf of Tonkin, there were strong Northeast winds of level 7, gusting to level 9.

It is forecasted that on land, this evening and tonight, December 16, this cold air will affect other places in the Northwest and North Central regions, then affect the Central Central region. Northeast wind inland is strong at level 3, coastal areas at level 4-5, gusting at level 6-7.

During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature at night and early morning in the midlands, the Northern Delta and the North Central region is generally from 11-14 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North it is generally 7-10 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas it is below 3 degrees Celsius in some places; in the area from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue it is generally 15-18 degrees Celsius.

In the North and North Central regions, the weather is very cold, especially in the mountainous areas of the North. The area from Quang Binh to Thua Thien Hue is very cold. In the high mountains, there is a possibility of snow and ice.

Warning: This severe cold weather may last after December 20.

Regarding the rain situation, according to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the afternoon of December 16, there were scattered showers and thunderstorms in the North and North Central regions.

It is forecasted that in the afternoon and evening of December 16, in the North Central region, there will be rain, showers, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-20mm, in some places over 40mm.

From the evening of December 16-17, in the Central Central region, there will be rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall of 20-40mm, in some places over 80mm; in Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, in some places very heavy rain with rainfall of 50-100mm, in some places over 150mm.

Warning: from the night of December 17, rain will gradually decrease in Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue areas.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rain may cause flash floods in small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes, and inundation in low-lying areas.

Weather forecast for regions from the night of December 16 to December 18

The North and North Central regions will have rain in some places, with scattered showers and rain in the North Central region on the night of December 16. The weather will be very cold, with severe cold in the mountainous areas of the North, and the possibility of snow and ice in the high mountains.

The Central Central region will have rain, moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places until the night of December 17, then scattered rain and showers. From December 17 in the North, the weather will turn cold.

Other areas: scattered showers at night, sunny during the day.

There will be rain in some places in the North, especially on the night of December 18 and the morning of December 19. The weather will be very cold, with severe cold in mountainous areas, and the possibility of snow and ice in high mountainous areas.

From the night of December 18 to December 19, the North Central region will have rain, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places. The weather will be very cold.

The Central Central region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, especially on December 19 and 20 and from December 22 to 24, there will be rain, moderate rain, locally heavy rain and thunderstorms. In the North, it will be cold on the night of December 17.

South Central region from December 22-25, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

In the South and Central Highlands from December 23-25, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain.

Thunderstorms may contain tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong winds.
