Need to study and restore Ma Da bridge connecting Binh Phuoc with Dong Nai

That was one of the conclusions of Minister of Transport Tran Hong Minh at the working session with leaders of Binh Phuoc province.

Previously, Minister Tran Hong Minh chaired a working session with leaders of Binh Phuoc province on investment and development of transport infrastructure in the area.

Including the investment policy to expand DT 753 route (Binh Phuoc) connecting with DT 761 route (Dong Nai) via Ma Da bridge.

The Ministry of Transport agreed that it is necessary to continue researching and investing in restoring the Ma Da Bridge connecting Binh Phuoc with Dong Nai and other localities in the Southeast region. This will create favorable conditions to promote socio-economic development in the Southeast and Central Highlands regions.

The Ministry of Transport has requested the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province to work with the People's Committee of Dong Nai province to agree on an investment plan for the above route. The Ministry will closely coordinate with localities during the implementation process.

Today, the National Assembly will decide on the personnel and number of members of the Government and the National Assembly Standing Committee.

According to the meeting agenda, on February 18, the National Assembly will spend almost the whole day reviewing and deciding on issues related to organizational arrangement and personnel work.

In the morning, the National Assembly held a plenary session in the hall to vote on the Law on Government Organization (amended).

During the remaining time of February 18, the National Assembly will meet separately to consider and vote on the contents of the organizational structure of the Government for the 15th National Assembly term and the structure of the number of Government members for the 15th National Assembly term.

The National Assembly will hear reports, examine and discuss in groups the draft resolution on the organization of National Assembly agencies; the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended); and personnel work.

At the same time, listen to the report explaining and receiving the opinions of delegates discussing in the delegation about 2 draft resolutions on the organization of National Assembly agencies and the number of members of the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly (amended).

The National Assembly will discuss and vote on the two resolutions mentioned above. Next, the National Assembly will hold a separate meeting on personnel matters.

Vietnam's plan to convert coal power to clean energy

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 266 promulgating a plan to implement the Global Declaration on converting coal power to clean energy.

Specific goals for the period up to 2030: pilot research on installing carbon capture and transfer systems for coal-fired thermal power plants using old, low-efficiency technology; consider stopping operations of about 540MW (Pha Lai thermal power plant, capacity 440MW and Ninh Binh thermal power plant, capacity 100MW).

Research and pilot the application of technology of burning biomass and ammonia fuels at coal-fired thermal power plants to reduce _CO2 emissions. Encourage coal-fired power plants to burn biomass fuels and gradually switch to using biomass and ammonia fuels.

Along with that, prioritize the exploitation, thorough and effective use of renewable energy sources for electricity production; increase the proportion of electricity produced from renewable energy sources (including hydropower) to about 29.2 - 37.7%.

Strive to complete the investment in Ninh Thuan nuclear power plant project within about 5 years, contributing to ensuring energy security, development and environmental protection.

By 2045, develop at least 1,160 MW of alternative clean power sources to compensate for power sources, ensuring sufficient power supply for the national power system to consider stopping the operation of about 1,160 MW of coal-fired thermal power for coal-fired power plants that have reached the end of their economic life (if fuel conversion is not performed).

The Department of Education and Training, the Department of Justice, the Department of Industry and Trade, the Office of the City People's Committee, the City Inspectorate and the Department of Food Safety are piloted and established under Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly.

In which, the Department of Traffic and Public Works was established on the basis of reorganizing the Department of Transport and receiving the Standing Office of the Traffic Safety Committee, a number of functions and tasks of state management of infrastructure from the Department of Construction.

The Department of Home Affairs was reorganized on the basis of merging with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, taking over the functions and tasks of state management of labor, wages, employment; meritorious people; occupational safety and hygiene; social insurance; and gender equality.

The Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions was established by merging the Religious Committee of the Department of Home Affairs into the Ethnic Minorities Committee. The Department of Natural Resources and Environment was reorganized by merging with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.

The Department of Culture and Sports was reorganized on the basis of receiving the state management function of press and publishing from the Department of Information and Communications. The Department of Finance merged with the Department of Planning and Investment, receiving the City Enterprise Management Innovation Board.

The Department of Construction was reorganized on the basis of merging the Department of Construction and the Department of Planning and Architecture. The Department of Health took over the state management of social protection, children, prevention and control of social evils; and management and use of the Children's Protection Fund.

The Department of Education and Training was reorganized on the basis of taking over the state management of vocational education from the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Department of Industry and Trade received the City Market Management Department from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Center for Consulting and Supporting the Transformation of Agricultural Economic Structure.

The Department of Home Affairs also proposed a plan to assign the City Police to take over some state management functions and tasks from other departments. The remaining specialized agencies will be streamlined and have fewer internal organizational units.
