Centers for Disease Control Receive 80,000 Aquatabs Water Disinfectant Tablets Supported by the World Health Organization
Storm No. 10 has left many serious consequences in Cao Bang province, causing widespread flooding, damaging many infrastructure works and severely affecting people's lives. In particular, prolonged flooding has polluted domestic water sources, causing a lack of clean water in many areas.
To promptly treat drinking water for people and To proactively prevent a number of diseases arising after floods, the Center for Disease Control has sent Document No. 2198/KSBT-CSSKCĐ to the World Health Organization (WHO) Office in Vietnam requesting chemical support to respond to disease prevention work during the storm and flood season.
On October 5, the World Health Organization supported the Center for Disease Control with 80,000 Aquatabs water disinfection tablets and 125 plastic cans of clean water. to help localities proactively treat and disinfect water sources, ensuring clean water supply for people in affected areas.
Immediately after receiving the tablets, the Center for Disease Control urgently distributed and distributed Aquatabs water disinfectant tablets to commune and ward health stations in the province, prioritizing areas heavily affected by the storm to promptly instruct people on how to use them, ensuring the safety of domestic water sources.
This is a practical support activity, demonstrating the concern and companionship of the World Health Organization with the local health sector in the effort to protect people's health, prevent disease outbreaks after natural disasters, and contribute to stabilizing the lives of people in affected areas.
