In the National Theatre Festival on "The Image of the Police Soldier" held in Hanoi in early July, Ho Chi Minh City had 4 units participating and reaping many high awards. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Theatre Association organized this discussion to review the achievements and difficulties of the units and aim for new goals.

Most of the opinions in the discussion highly appreciated the courage and overcoming difficulties of the stages in Ho Chi Minh City when they are all socialized units with self-financing, having to spend hundreds of millions of dong to stage, bring far away and are truly dedicated.

Director - Meritorious Artist Ca Le Hong emphasized: "For units that are used to staging entertainment plays, staging political plays is really a pressure. And the police theme is not easy at all."

Meritorious Artist Minh Nhi also confessed: "Truong Hung Minh Theater was only established 3 years ago, and is used to comedy. Now we are playing serious roles but looking down at the audience and seeing so many "police uniforms" sitting and watching, it's really... nerve-wracking. Not to mention, we were completely bewildered when we went to the North to attend the festival, and had to ask our friends for advice on everything."

Director Quoc Thao also confided: "There are many regulations, standards, and working styles in the police force that make us confused and afraid of making mistakes. Luckily, we have artist Tuyet Thu, whose husband is a police officer, ready to help us at any time."

Director - Meritorious Artist Le Nguyen Dat finished staging the play Another War for Hong Van Stage and shared: "With the theme of police soldiers, we see ourselves as soldiers on the cultural front, having to guide the public's aesthetics. After these plays, artists should sit together, encourage each other and find a direction, boldly embarking on political drama."

As People's Artist Tran Ngoc Giau concluded: "The political drama of Ho Chi Minh City has its own color, very attractive. The State needs to invest and support units to serve the public. Conversely, the units must also have works worthy of the State's investment."
