General Secretary To Lam leaves for a State visit to North Korea to attend the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.

At the invitation of General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Kim Jong Un, today (October 9), General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam left Hanoi for a State visit to North Korea and to attend the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The delegation included Politburo members: Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Committee; Phan Dinh Trac, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee; Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Inspection Committee ; Nguyen Xuan Thang, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; Do Van Chien, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Phan Van Giang, Minister of National Defense; Luong Tam Quang, Minister of Public Security.

Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs ; Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Chi Dung, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Khac Dinh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Pham Gia Tuc, Chief of the Party Central Committee Office; Tran Duc Thang, Acting Minister of Agriculture and Environment; Comrade To An Xo, Assistant to the General Secretary, in charge of the General Secretary's Office; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea Le Ba Vinh joined the delegation.

Over the past 75 years, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the DPRK has been valued, consolidated and developed by the two Parties, two States and peoples. Vietnam always wishes to promote stronger and more substantial cooperation with the DPRK in all fields, on the basis of compliance with international law, in accordance with the aspirations of the people of the two countries, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
