The Consulate General of Vietnam in Busan solemnly celebrates the 80th anniversary of National Day September 2

On the evening of September 2, in Busan city, the Vietnamese Consulate General solemnly held the 80th Anniversary of National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The event was attended by many guests including Vice Mayor of External Affairs of Daegu City Chung Hae Kwan, Head of Busan - Jinhae Free Economic Zone Park Seong Ho, Consuls General/Consuls of various countries in Busan City, representatives of Korean agencies, organizations and enterprises in Busan City, Daegu City, Ulsan City, Gyeongsangnam Province, Gyeongsangbuk Province, Jeju Province and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Southeast region of Korea.

Speaking at the ceremony, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan shared the significance of the August Revolution in 1945 and said that over the past 80 years, Vietnam has gone through many difficult but glorious stages, from the fire and smoke of the fierce war years to protect the Fatherland to the reconstruction and renovation, to today become a peaceful , developed, responsible and prestigious country in the international arena.

Vietnam has made great strides, its economy is among the 32 largest economies in the world , the top 20 countries in terms of trade scale and the 15 developing countries attracting the largest investment. Vietnam has consistently implemented an independent, self-reliant, multilateral, diversified foreign policy, being a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community.

Consul General Doan Phuong Lan affirmed that this achievement is even more meaningful when shared with close friends and partners, including South Korea - Vietnam's comprehensive strategic partner.

Ms. Doan Phuong Lan expressed her joy that the community of more than 300,000 Vietnamese people in Korea, of which nearly tens of thousands are in the Southeast region, is a strong bridge, both preserving national identity and integrating and turning Vietnam-Korea friendship from words to actions, from policy to reality in daily life.

In particular, the State visit to the Republic of Korea by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam once again affirmed the commitment to strengthening cooperation, promoting comprehensive and sustainable bilateral relations, opening a new chapter in the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

Mayor of Busan Park Hyeong Jun sent congratulations on the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day, expressed his admiration for the Vietnamese people who have overcome countless difficulties with their strong will and extraordinary efforts to achieve the brilliant development achievements of today, and highly appreciated the Vietnamese community in Busan for their active contributions to the development of the multicultural city of Busan as well as the increasingly close relationship between Busan and Vietnam.

Sincerely congratulating Vietnam on the 80th anniversary of National Day and the opening of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan, Vice Mayor of Daegu City for Foreign Affairs Chung Hae Kwan affirmed that Vietnam is a true comprehensive strategic partner of Korea, especially after the State visit of General Secretary To Lam to Korea last August, the relationship between the two countries will expand in many fields and continue to be promoted at the local government level.

Mr. Chung Hae Kwan said that Daegu city hopes that the Vietnamese Consulate General will become a solid bridge, enhancing cooperation, friendship and further deepening the partnership between the two sides.

At the ceremony, guests watched a slideshow summarizing the 80-year journey of building the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and enjoyed special performances by the Vietnamese community in Busan and Vietnamese and Korean dishes.
