President Luong Cuong receives Chairman of SK Group of Korea

The President welcomed SK Group's active cooperation with Vietnam in recent times, especially its deep participation and active support for the National Innovation Center.

According to the special correspondent of the Vietnam News Agency, on the occasion of attending the High-level General Debate of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, combined with bilateral activities in the United States, on the afternoon of September 24 local time, President Luong Cuong received Chairman of SK Group and Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry Taewon Chey.

At the reception, the President emphasized that the Vietnam-Korea relationship is developing very well in all fields and Korea is always among the leading countries in investment and trade in Vietnam.

The President highlighted the practical contributions of Korean enterprises investing and doing business in Vietnam, including SK Group, thereby making an important contribution to Vietnam's socio -economic development.

The President welcomed SK Group's active cooperation with Vietnam in recent times, especially its deep participation and active support for the National Innovation Center in the field of training semiconductor engineers and sharing innovative solutions in a number of industries such as LNG energy.

The President suggested that in the coming time, SK Group continue to coordinate with the National Innovation Center to promote human resource development in the semiconductor industry, and continue to implement initiatives and programs to promote Vietnam's innovation ecosystem.

Regarding the proposed activities of SK Group in Vietnam, the President suggested that SK Group cooperate closely with relevant agencies and localities in Vietnam, and substantially evaluate the projects; at the same time, he affirmed that the Vietnamese Government always attaches importance to and creates favorable conditions for capable and dedicated enterprises to invest in Vietnam.

Expressing his gratitude to the President for taking the time to receive him, Mr. Taewon Chey informed the President about the investment activities of SK Group in Vietnam in recent times and the plan to expand investment in Vietnam in the coming time; emphasizing that SK Group has the world's leading capacity in the energy sector and wishes to cooperate in implementing related fields in Vietnam to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam's economy.

The Chairman of SK Group said that the group is currently researching a number of projects in the LNG power sector, as well as proposing to include a number of projects in the Green Growth Project Catalogue and deploy a Comprehensive Energy Solution Package in Vietnam.

Mr. Taewon Chey also thanked the Vietnamese side for creating favorable conditions for the Group to effectively implement projects in Vietnam, including the National Innovation Center and a number of other important projects.

Appreciating Vietnam's remarkable development in recent times, Chairman Taewon Chey hopes that the Vietnamese Government will continue to create favorable conditions for him to accompany and contribute to Vietnam's development in the new era./.
