According to the Kremlin, after completing his state visit to Vietnam, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a letter of thanks to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President To Lam.

“Dear Comrade General Secretary and President, from the bottom of my heart I would like to thank you for the warm welcome and unforgettable hospitality shown to me and the Russian delegation during our State visit to Vietnam. The trip to your country has left the best impressions on me,” the letter read.

President Putin emphasized that the exchanges with high-ranking Vietnamese leaders were truly constructive and effective.

The Russian leader expressed confidence that the implementation of the bilateral agreements reached will contribute to further strengthening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Moscow and Hanoi .

“I look forward to the continuation of active joint work on urgent topical issues on the bilateral and international agenda. I wish you good health and new successes for the benefit of the friendly Vietnamese people,” Mr. Putin said in the letter.

The Russian President had a successful State visit to Vietnam. Mr. Putin held talks with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President To Lam, and met with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

President Putin visited the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and laid flowers at the Monument to Heroes and Martyrs. President To Lam and President Vladimir Putin met with former Vietnamese students who graduated from universities in the Soviet Union and Russia.

In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two sides had in-depth discussions on many contents and directions to promote Vietnam - Russia relations in the fields of politics, economics - trade, science - technology and humanity. The two sides also discussed many international and regional issues of mutual concern in a spirit of trust.

The two sides also issued a Joint Statement on deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership on the basis of 30 years of achievements in implementing the Treaty on fundamental principles of Vietnam-Russia friendship relations.
