On September 26, the public electric car charging station located in the German House office building, headquarters of the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Ho Chi Minh City (Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City) was put into operation, serving customers using electric cars in the building.

The newly inaugurated electric car charging station also complements the existing electric bicycle (E-bike) charging infrastructure in Ho Chi Minh City, providing a comprehensive solution for electric vehicle users, with 4 AC charging posts, each with a capacity of 22kW.

According to the investor, these charging stations feature power adjustment, smartphone connectivity, and allow charging scheduling via the EV ONE mobile application, making it easy for users to start the charging process with just a QR code.

Charging posts are equipped with emergency stop buttons and safety measures such as lightning protection and leakage warning. Advanced fire suppression systems and comprehensive fire safety solutions ensure optimal operational safety.

"The launch of the electric car charging station promotes green mobility and contributes to the realization of Vietnam's Net-Zero goal by 2050," affirmed Mr. Elmar Dutt, General Director of Deutsches Haus Ho Chi Minh City.

This initiative is a testament to German House's commitment to adopting advanced technology and promoting the use of environmentally friendly transportation solutions for residents, tenants and visitors.

Mr. Huynh Tien Dat, CEO of EV ONE Company, said that in order to put the charging station into operation, EV ONE had to go through an extremely rigorous evaluation and testing process.

From design, material selection, charging equipment quality, technical expertise to operational capability, every element must fully meet the strict standards set by German House.

The opening of this public charging station will contribute to Vietnam's green energy transition, supporting the Government's target of net zero emissions by 2050.

In the first 6 months of 2024, statistics show that about 17,536 electric cars were sold in Vietnam, including 17,482 domestically produced and assembled cars.

Currently, the Ministry of Science and Technology has announced 8 Vietnamese standards (TCVN) related to charging stations for electric vehicles and 3 Vietnamese standards on sockets.

A complete electric vehicle charging infrastructure includes electrical infrastructure, control and communication infrastructure, charging ports and plugs that meet various standards.
