Ho Chi Minh City leads the country in digital transformation by 2024

According to the results of the 2024 Digital Transformation Index (DTI) assessment announced by the Ministry of Science and Technology on October 21 , Ho Chi Minh City continues to affirm its pioneering position when leading the group of 63 provinces and cities ( before the merger ) and ranking 4th in the group of 34 provinces and cities (after the merger ) .

This year's assessment method has been adjusted into two groups to accurately reflect the new administrative scale and changes in the actual implementation of digital transformation of localities . The fact that Ho Chi Minh City still maintains the leading group in both rankings shows the comprehensive development and rapid adaptability of the " super city " in the early stages of implementing the unified administrative model .

In the digital economy , the contribution rate will reach 22 % of GRDP, expected to increase to 25 % by 2025. Regarding digital society , 100% of people will have digital identities and electronic identification accounts , creating a favorable foundation for accessing digital utilities .
