On September 2, 2025 in Singapore, the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP) Award Ceremony organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) took place, with the participation of more than 200 partner banks and global financial institutions.
At the event, TPBank was the only Vietnamese bank to be honored with a “double” award, including “Leading Partner Bank in Vietnam” and “Leading SME Trade Bank”. This is the fourth consecutive year TPBank has been honored by ADB in the field of supporting SME businesses. This result demonstrates ADB’s appreciation for TPBank’s persistent and effective efforts in promoting trade capital flows, especially supporting the small and medium-sized enterprises sector - the force that accounts for the majority of Vietnam’s economic structure.
The award “Leading Trade Finance Bank for SMEs” awarded to TPBank for 4 consecutive years (2022-2025) shows that the bank not only maintains a consistent commitment to the SME segment, but also continuously innovates to meet the increasingly diverse and complex needs of this customer group. In the context that many small businesses still face difficulties in accessing capital, TPBank has proactively deployed flexible financing products, optimized appraisal processes and applied digital technology to shorten transaction processing time. Thanks to that, the bank not only provides capital, but also plays a bridge role to help SMEs gradually integrate into the regional supply chain, a key factor to increase sustainable competitiveness.
In addition, the “Leading Partner Bank in Vietnam” award presented by ADB recognizes TPBank’s position as a strategic partner, highly effective in coordinating trade finance operations with international financial institutions. This award is also a testament to TPBank’s risk control capacity, reliability and operational quality when participating in cross-border trade transactions with an increasingly expanding scale.
Over the years, TPBank has been one of ADB's most active partners in Vietnam. According to data from the TSCFP program, ADB has supported more than 57 billion USD for more than 45,500 trade transactions globally, of which 60% are related to SMEs - a customer group that TPBank always gives special priority to. Not only stopping at capital support, TPBank also actively implements trade finance activities towards gender equality - one of the focuses that ADB prioritizes in the region. From 2023 to now, TPBank has recorded a growth of more than 80% in the value of financing transactions for women-owned businesses, thereby contributing to expanding access to capital for businesses that often face many credit barriers.
Mr. Nguyen Hung, General Director of TPBank shared: “In the context of global trade facing many uncertainties, the supply chain is constantly under pressure, the proactive and effective companionship of banks like TPBank will continue to play a key role in helping Vietnamese enterprises overcome challenges, improve competitiveness, and gradually integrate deeper into the international market. TPBank will continue to expand cooperation with developed financial institutions, invest in technology and optimize processes to not only better serve SMEs, but also contribute to raising Vietnam's position in the regional and global supply chain”.
Currently, TPBank's trade finance portfolio focuses on priority areas such as green, sustainable production; high-tech agriculture and environmentally friendly logistics, in line with Vietnam's green transformation orientation and Net Zero target by 2050. At the same time, TPBank also closely integrates environmental and social risk assessment and management into credit granting activities, to ensure that the funding is not only financially effective, but also sustainable in terms of social impact.
With a clear strategic orientation and a wide international partnership ecosystem, TPBank is gradually affirming its role as a domestic commercial bank with strong connectivity to global development capital flows.
