In order to improve the efficiency of management, monitoring the progress and quality of key traffic projects, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong directed relevant units to deploy artificial intelligence (AI) applications in a number of projects under construction, aiming at the goal of building a smart, modern and safe urban area.

Specifically, piloting the application of AI in construction management and supervision at An Phu intersection and Tan Van intersection. Accordingly, the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center presides over and coordinates with the Department of Construction, Project Management Boards and contractors to integrate and analyze data from multiple sources such as cameras, traffic systems, BIM/GIS data, serving the assessment of construction progress and quality, monitoring labor safety and detecting and warning of traffic jams early.
After the pilot implementation, the Digital Transformation Center will propose a plan to replicate AI applications for other projects, demonstrating the city's orientation as a pioneer in digital transformation and smart urban management.

The Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to coordinate in reporting the implementation results, and at the same time develop a comprehensive Project Management Software, applicable to all key projects until 2030, and submit it to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee in November 2025.
Project Management Boards and construction contractors are required to fully share data with the Digital Transformation Center and strictly comply with regulations on BIM application in construction investment management.
Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Bui Xuan Cuong affirmed that the application of AI is a strategic step to improve productivity, transparency and efficiency of public investment, towards building Ho Chi Minh City into a modern, smart and sustainably developed city.
